The Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering https://mae.hkust.edu.hk// (MAE) has comprehensive teaching, and basic and applied research programs. There are currently 30+ faculty members, about 450 undergraduate students and 450 postgraduate students in the department. Our research activities are well supported by multi-disciplinary research facilities and collaborations across the university.
The MAE Department invites applications for multiple faculty positions at all ranks (Assistant Professor / Associate Professor / Professor). We welcome outstanding candidates in all research areas of the department, including but not limited to robotics, aerospace, advanced materials, green and smart manufacturing, and sustainable energy systems.
Applicants must have a PhD degree in mechanical engineering or a related field, a strong record of scholarly publications, and recognized research and/or industrial experience. Successful candidates are expected to establish an externally funded research program and contribute to undergraduate and graduate teaching.
Appointment at all ranks (Assistant Professor / Associate Professor / Professor) will be considered. Competitive salaries commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered. Appointment as Professor will be on substantive basis while appointment as Assistant / Associate Professor will normally be on a three-year contract. A gratuity will be payable upon successful completion of contract.
