Job Description

Great people. Greater business impact.

About CAI

CAI Software builds digital work execution platforms and software solutions that help manufacturing businesses operate with greater clarity and control. Our people bring structure to complexity by replacing fragmented, paper-based processes with connected digital workflows that improve visibility, compliance, and decision-making in real industrial environments. With 45+ years of experience and a presence across 10+ countries, CAI combines deep industry understanding with practical technology. Our team consists of ~800 employees worldwide who work across 15 core industries and support 5,000+ customers, guided by sound judgment, long-term thinking, and outcomes that endure.

CAI Business Units and the Markets We Serve

CAI Software is organized into three business units - Graphic Communications, Process Manufacturing, and Discrete Manufacturing – aligned to the markets we serve. This structure allows our teams to stay close to customer needs while operating with the scale and support of a global software company.

This role is part of our Discrete Manufacturing business unit, which delivers software solutions for manufacturers that produce components and assemblies that become part of larger products. Serving small through enterprise manufacturers in industries such as aerospace, automotive, industrial equipment, and engineered products, Discrete Manufacturing focuses on modern execution—connecting planning, production, traceability, and automation to help manufacturers run more resilient, efficient, and predictable operations.

CAI India

CAI India is a strategic investment in the company’s future. Our Bangalore Center of Excellence is a place of ownership, expertise, and accountability. Teams in India work on global products end to end, contribute to key decisions, and influence how CAI evolves as a business. This is not a support-led model, but rather a center designed to lead through knowledge, responsibility, and trust.

About the Role

We are hiring Professional Services Consultants to join the CAI Discrete COE PS team, supporting EDI implementations across CAI's product lines.

What You'll Do

  1. Execute end-to-end trading partner implementations — trading partner onboarding, mapping development, testing, and production cutover.
  1. Develop EDI mappings and transformations using CAI's mapping tools and scripting environments.
  1. Support automotive-specific EDI scenarios — OEM portal integrations, MMOG/LE compliance, EDI 830/862 release processing, 856 ASN generation, and 810 invoicing.
  1. Troubleshoot inbound and outbound document flows across AS2, SFTP, VAN, and OEM-specific communication channels.
  1. Write customization code to extend EDI functionality — front-end and back-end logic.
  1. Partner with customer IT teams and trading partners for technical contacts to coordinate testing and cutover.
  1. Document trading partner configurations, mapping specifications, and customer-specific customizations.
  1. Support existing customer base through trading partner changes, OEM specification updates, and map revisions.

What We're Looking For

  1. 4-7 years of EDI implementation / consultant experience.
  1. Experience in manufacturing environments/ domains.
  1. Strong working knowledge of EDI standards — X12 and EDIFACT — with direct hands-on mapping experience.
  1. Experience in implementation and troubleshoot experience in EDI
  1. Experience integrating EDI with ERP systems — understanding of order-to-cash and procure-to-pay document flows
  1. Working knowledge of communication protocols — AS2, SFTP, VANs Mandatory and OEM-specific portals -plus
  1. Automotive EDI experience is preferred — OEM portal experience (Covisint, Supply Power, Nexeo, or equivalent), MMOG/LE familiarity, and release/shipping/invoicing transaction flows.
  1. Excellent written English for technical documentation and communication with customer and trading partner teams.
  1. Strong troubleshooting orientation — EDI issues are cross-functional and require precise diagnosis.
  1. Familiarity with integration technologies — REST APIs, JSON, Open API — is a plus.
