Summary

As a Professional, Process Writer, you will support the development, maintenance, and enhancement of business process documentation for operational and project-based initiatives. Working closely with subject matter experts and business stakeholders, you will gather information, analyze processes, and translate technical and operational requirements into clear, concise, and user-friendly documentation. You will demonstrate a continuous improvement mindset and apply process improvement principles to enhance documentation quality, efficiency, and user experience.

Your role in our mission

Support organizational effectiveness through the development and maintenance of high-quality process documentation that enables employees to perform their work consistently and efficiently.

  • Create, edit, review, and maintain business process documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, job aids, reference guides, and other operational materials.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts and stakeholders to gather information and document business processes, systems, products, and services.
  • Translate complex technical and operational information into clear, concise, and user-friendly documentation.
  • Assist with process discovery and documentation efforts by participating in stakeholder interviews, meetings, and working sessions.
  • Ensure documentation complies with established standards, templates, policies, and quality requirements.
  • Review existing documentation and recommend updates to improve accuracy, consistency, usability, and effectiveness.
  • Develop process flowcharts, workflow diagrams, and supporting documentation artifacts as needed.
  • Maintain document repositories and ensure content remains current and properly version controlled.
  • Support operational improvement initiatives by identifying documentation gaps and opportunities for process standardization.
  • Partner with project teams to ensure documentation is delivered accurately and on schedule.
  • Demonstrate a continuous improvement mindset through the application of Lean Six Sigma principles and documentation best practices.

What we're looking for

  • Bachelor's degree in Technical Writing, Communications, Business Administration, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • 3 or more years of experience in technical writing, process documentation, business operations, knowledge management, or a related field.
  • Experience creating and maintaining process documentation, SOPs, work instructions, and training materials.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to simplify complex information.
  • Working knowledge of technical writing principles, document management practices, and documentation standards.
  • Experience gathering information from multiple stakeholders and translating requirements into effective documentation.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and documentation or content management tools.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and analytical skills.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green or Yellow Belt certification, or willingness to pursue certification, preferred.
  • Experience with process mapping and workflow documentation tools preferred.

The pay range for this position is $56,900.00 - $81,300.00 per year, however, the base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
