Job Description

Professional Land Surveyor / Survey Project Manager

Location: Bethlehem, PA

We are a well-established, multidisciplinary engineering and surveying firm with a long history of serving clients throughout the region. Our team provides professional surveying, civil engineering, environmental, and related services across a diverse range of projects.

We have built our reputation through technical excellence, exceptional client service, and long-term relationships. A significant portion of our work comes from repeat clients, and our professionals are encouraged to take ownership of their projects and develop strong relationships with the people they serve.

We are currently seeking a Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) or Surveyor-in-Training (SIT) to join our growing Survey Department. This is an excellent opportunity for a mid-career survey professional who enjoys a combination of technical work, project coordination, client interaction, and field support.

The ideal candidate will have the technical foundation to manage survey projects with increasing independence and the desire to take on greater responsibility within an established department.

What You'll Do

  • Manage and coordinate a variety of land surveying projects from initial scope through completion
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, project stakeholders, and internal team members
  • Review project requirements, establish scope, and assist with scheduling and resource coordination
  • Perform and/or oversee boundary, topographic, ALTA/NSPS, construction, and other land surveying services
  • Conduct research and analyze deeds, plans, easements, right-of-way information, and other property records
  • Perform survey calculations and quality-control reviews
  • Prepare and review survey plans, plats, exhibits, and other technical deliverables
  • Coordinate with field crews, CAD technicians, engineers, and other project professionals
  • Visit project sites as needed to support field operations and resolve project-related issues
  • Communicate directly with clients to understand project needs and provide updates throughout the project lifecycle
  • Assist with project proposals, scopes of work, and estimates
  • Maintain a high standard of technical accuracy and quality control
  • Help mentor and support less-experienced members of the Survey Department
  • Contribute to the continued growth and development of the Survey Department

What We're Looking For

  • Pennsylvania PLS or SIT certification
  • Several years of progressive land surveying experience
  • Strong understanding of boundary surveying, topographic surveying, construction surveying, and related survey practices
  • Experience performing survey calculations and reviewing survey data
  • Ability to interpret deeds, plats, plans, easements, and other property records
  • Experience with AutoCAD/Civil 3D or similar surveying/CAD software
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate work
  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients, field crews, CAD staff, engineers, and other project stakeholders
  • A proactive, team-oriented approach with the ability to work independently

Why This Opportunity

This position offers the opportunity to join an established and respected professional services firm while taking on meaningful responsibility within its Survey Department.

You will work alongside experienced surveying and engineering professionals and have the opportunity to become involved in a wide variety of projects. For the right individual, this role can provide a clear path toward greater project management, client development, technical leadership, and long-term advancement within the Survey Department.

We are looking for someone who wants more than simply a job in surveying. The ideal candidate will want to build a career, develop lasting client relationships, take ownership of projects, and play an important role in the continued success of the department.

PLS and strong SIT candidates are encouraged to apply.
