Job Description

Are you an experienced auditor looking to take the next step into a broader international role with audit leadership responsibility? Do you bring strong expertise in anti-money laundering, financial sanctions, or retail banking, and enjoy working in complex, cross-border environments? At Raiffeisen Bank International (RBI), you will join a leading commercial and investment bank in Austria and Central and Eastern Europe and contribute to high-impact audits across the Group.

Your mission at RBI:

  • Lead or participate in audits mostly in RBI Head office but also in group companies, with a particular focus on anti-money laundering, financial sanctions, and retail banking.
  • Plan audit engagements, define audit approaches, guide team members, and ensure high-quality execution of fieldwork.
  • Identify risks, control weaknesses, and process inefficiencies through interviews, walkthroughs, sample testing, and analysis of documentation and data
  • Prepare clear, concise, and well-supported audit reports and present key conclusions to stakeholders.
  • Track and assess the remediation of agreed audit actions and supervisory findings.
  • Monitor regulatory developments and emerging risks relevant to the audited areas and reflect them in audit work.
  • Work closely with audit teams and business stakeholders across the RBI Group in an international and collaborative environment.

Your core competencies:

  • University degree in Business, Economics, Law, or a related discipline, or a comparable educational background.
  • Several years of relevant professional experience in internal audit, external audit, compliance, or a comparable control function within banking or financial services.
  • Strong expertise in at least one and ideally in several of the following areas: anti-money laundering, financial sanctions, or retail banking.
  • Ability to lead audit assignments, coordinate team members, and engage confidently with senior stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and conceptual skills, ideally combined with experience in data analysis and interest in digital tools and AI.
  • Excellent communication and writing skills in English; German and additional CEE languages are an advantage.
  • Willingness to travel across the CEE region.

Nice to have:

  • Professional certifications such as CIA, ACCA, CAMS, or similar.
  • Experience in cross-border audit work, supervisory interaction, or audits in highly regulated banking environments.

What we offer:

  • Global community: 75+ nationalities, English as the company language, and work permit support. Find out more about international applications here.
  • Career growth: We believe in continuous learning and proactive career development. Take on challenging work that stretches your abilities, attend trainings, and use new technologies to make a lasting impact.

  • Stay healthy: Subsidized canteen, well-being programs, check-ups, and sport allowances.
  • Save money: Discounts, exclusive banking terms, and a heavily subsidized public transport pass.
  • Family support: Child allowances, gender-neutral parental leave, bilingual company kindergarten, and holiday childcare.
  • Competitive salary: In accordance with Austrian legal requirements, the minimum salary for this position is EUR 3.375,40 gross per month under the applicable Banking Collective Agreement. The actual salary is typically higher and will be determined individually based on your qualifications, professional experience, and the specific requirements of the role.
