Job Description

This Case Manager position plays an important role in advancing our mission and supporting the communities we serve.

Conducts interviews with El Barrio students to assess barriers to employment and success with life goals and completes Individual Service Plans.  Generates referrals to internal programs and external agencies for supportive services such as clothing, transportation, and childcare to remove or mitigate barriers. Updates and maintains job seeker files; responsible for case note reporting through all of the database management systems used for Case Management and client tracking. Represents El Barrio at local meetings and conducts workshops on Case Management related topics.

This position will work in-person Monday-Friday from 8:00am-4:30pm or 8:30am-5:00pm, with some evenings. This is not a remote position.

Job Qualifications
• High School Diploma or equivalent with 4 years of case management experience required.
• Bachelor’s Degree in a related field strongly preferred
• Exposure to or experience working with clients in transition to finding employment.
• Demonstrated knowledge of local community resources and ability to locate and engage new resources locally, regionally and nationally.
• Ability to work with a diverse population required.
• Flexible schedule to work outside of normal business hours for program and job seeker needs and to attend trainings and meetings. Driver's license and personal vehicle strongly preferred.
•  Must have demonstrated experience working with electronic platforms (i.e. Microsoft software, internet, databases, and virtual learning platforms).
• Strong written and oral communication skills in English.
• Bilingual (Spanish/English) strongly preferred.

Program Specific Qualifications
• Demonstrated experience working with young adults, 18-24, looking for employment, continuing education or career readiness, preferred.
• Demonstrated experience working with young adults, 14-24, in shelters, residential facilities, foster care, or juvenile justice impacted, preferred.

Job Duties & Responsibilities
• Updates and ensures accuracy of data in all tracking and reporting systems and files.
• Assist job seekers with referral information and follows up regularly on the progress being made to resolve barriers to employment.
• Develop a strong relationship with job seekers and support staff in managing job seeker conduct.
• Assess issues challenging job seeker success and make recommendations for improvement.
• Provide emergency assistance and referral to other programs or agencies as needed.
• Ability to travel to meetings and job seeker appointments as required.
• Develop and present workshops on topics relevant to barrier removal, self-care and supportive services.
• Maintain accurate documentation and record data timely.
• Represent El Barrio at community meetings and events.
