Glendale Community College is accepting applications for a Professional Development/Vision Resource Center (VRC) Professional Expert.

This is a project-based subject-matter expert assignment responsible for supporting the implementation, administration, and optimization of the Vision Resource Center (VRC) and professional development activities and completion of related end-of-year tasks for the academic year.

The Professional Expert will provide specialized technical, analytical, and programmatic support with a primary focus on reporting, data integrity, and compliance tracking. This includes ensuring that professional development data is accurate and aligned across systems, supporting faculty and staff completion of required activities, and delivering finalized reports and documentation prior to the close of the academic year.

Under the direction of the Dean of Library and Learning Support Services and/or designee, this role will focus on completing clearly defined, time-bound deliverables, including end-of-year reporting, system validation, and process documentation to support continuity into the next academic cycle.

Examples of duties

Scope of Work / Project-Based Duties

The Professional Expert shall be engaged to complete the following short-term, outcome-driven deliverables with a primary emphasis on reporting, data integrity, and end-of-year program analysis:

Reporting, Data Integrity & Compliance

  • Produce finalized end-of-year professional development reports documenting faculty and staff participation, completion, and compliance status.
  • Complete a comprehensive cross-system data audit (VRC, scheduling platforms, and web content) to ensure alignment of event details, participation records, and completion data.
  • Identify, reconcile, and document 100% of major data discrepancies impacting reporting accuracy prior to final report submission.
  • Develop and deliver standardized reporting templates and at least one summary dashboard for ongoing institutional use.
  • Generate scheduled and ad hoc reports to support leadership decision-making during the assignment period.

Vision Resource Center Administration & Reporting Support

  • Configure and validate VRC data structures to ensure accurate report generation and tracking functionality.
  • Complete data uploads and system updates required for end-of-year reporting cycles.
  • Deliver weekly or biweekly reporting snapshots to monitor progress toward completion and compliance goals.
  • Document system limitations and provide written recommendations for reporting and system improvements.

Assessment, Feedback & Program Evaluation

  • Design and implement standardized exit ticket/survey tools for professional development sessions.
  • Compile and organize session-level datasets and distribute feedback reports to facilitators within a defined turn around time frame.
  • Produce a summary analysis report identifying participation trends, engagement levels, and key areas for improvement.

Professional Development Support & Attestation Cycle

  • Provide targeted support during the end-of-year attestation cycle, ensuring employees understand requirements and submission processes.
  • Develop and disseminate clear communication materials (e.g., guidance documents, reminders) to improve completion rates.
  • Track and report on attestation completion progress, identifying gaps and follow-up needs.

Systems Alignment & Program Coordination

  • Conduct regular cross-platform verification checks to ensure consistency of event data (time, location, modality) across all systems.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to resolve discrepancies within established turnaround timelines.
  • Support key professional development events by ensuring accurate data capture and reporting readiness.

Web, Documentation & Sustainability

  • Update and finalize professional development webpages and reporting resources to reflect accurate, current information.
  • Develop user guides and process documentation for VRC reporting, data validation, and tracking workflows.
  • Produce a comprehensive reporting procedures manual to support continuity beyond the assignment.

Program Transition & Close-Out

  • Deliver all final validated reports, datasets, and supporting documentation by the end of the assignment period.
  • Provide a written end-of-project outlining outcomes, challenges, and recommendations.
  • Ensure all tools, templates, and processes are fully documented and transferable to ongoing staff.

Final OutcomeBy the conclusion of the assignment, the Professional Expert will have completed;

  • Final end-of-year compliance and participation reports
  • A full cross-system data audit with resolved discrepancies
  • Standardized reporting templates and at least one dashboard
  • Session feedback datasets and summary evaluation report
  • Attestation tracking and completion analysis
  • Documented workflows, procedures, and sustainability resources

Qualifications

Experience with learning management systems (LMS) or similar platforms, including data tracking and reporting

Demonstrated experience in data reporting, analysis, or program evaluation, preferably in an educational setting.

Proficiency in data management and spreadsheets, with the ability to ensure accuracy across multiple systems.

Experience developing reports, summaries, or dashboards to support compliance or decision-making.

Ability to provide technical guidance and support to faculty and staff.

Strong organizational skills and ability to meet short-term, deadline-driven deliverables

Glendale Community College is currently accepting applications for qualified Professional Experts. This is a continuous recruitment for an applicant pool to fill Professional Expert assignments on an as-needed basis. Professional Experts are employed on a temporary basis for a specific project.
