Job Description

The Professional Development Coordinator, Funds (“PD Coordinator”) is responsible for all operational support related to the administration of the Fund’s Associate Mentoring and Advisor Programs, Connection Mentoring Program and Neighborhood Initiative (“Funds Mentoring Programs”). The PD Coordinator will work closely with Funds Senior Talent Leadership, Funds Professional Development Leads and the Associate Director, Professional Development to coordinate and administer the Funds Mentoring Programs. This role is an integral part of the Firm’s culture and serves as a resource for all Funds attorneys on mentoring related topics.

Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide ongoing support and assistance to Funds Senior Talent Leadership, Funds Professional Development Leads, and the Associate Director, Professional Development with respect to the Funds Mentoring Programs, specifically within the East Coast Funds practice.

  • Liaise with Funds Professional Development Leads on Funds Mentoring Programs pairings for all incoming Funds associates, laterals, and rotators, ensuring that mentoring meetings take place.

  • Facilitate Mentor and Advisor matches, including sending all match communications to both mentors/advisors and mentees/advisees.

  • Coordinate with counterparts in offices outside New York to support Funds mentoring-related responsibilities.

  • Assist in the implementation and maintenance of the new mentoring database as it relates to the Funds Mentoring Programs, including data entry, updates, and ensuring accurate and up-to-date records.

  • Monitor and support the mentor-mentee relationships for the Funds Mentoring Programs, and maintain notes on relationships accordingly

  • Liaise with Funds Professional Development to summarize and track the status of meetings in the Funds Mentoring Programs.

  • Run analytics from the mentoring database to track and report on mentoring activities, including quarterly reports and performance metrics, and provide insights to Funds Senior Talent Management.

  • Monitor and update mentoring tracking charts and/or database to reflect changes in status, new hires, incoming associates, and corporate rotators.

  • Keep historical records and manage active and non-active mentor designations.

  • Create and maintain group email lists for Funds Mentoring Programs.

  • Update and maintain all Funds Mentoring Programs materials and distribute to new Funds hires as needed.

  • Monitor mentoring-related expenses monthly and re-allocate as necessary.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education

Required

  • Bachelor's degree required

Skills and Experience

Required

  • 2 to 3 years of relevant professional experience

  • Strong oral and written communication skills; strong interpersonal skills

  • Ability to interact well and build professional relationships while maintaining confidentiality

  • Ability to self-direct juggle multiple priorities

  • Strong administrative and organizational skills

  • Must be able to work in a demanding, fast-paced and service-oriented environment

  • Must be team oriented

  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, database management systems and web-based databases/software

  • Must be flexible to adjust hours to work schedule that will require periodic overtime to meet departmental needs and ability to attend some evening events

Preferred

Prior experience in a law firm or professional services firm strongly preferred

Salary Information

NY Only: The estimated base salary range for this position is $70,000 to $85,000 at the time of posting.

The actual salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. This role is non-exempt meaning it is overtime pay eligible.
