The Professional Development Associate plays a key role in supporting the professional growth and continuing education of firm attorneys and staff. This position is responsible for managing, coordinating, and enhancing the firm’s internal training programs, ensuring that all attorneys and employees have access to high-quality learning opportunities that align with their professional development goals. Additionally, the role provides logistical and administrative support for external training initiatives.
A core responsibility of this role is overseeing Continuing Legal Education (“CLE”) compliance for all attorneys licensed in Texas and any additional jurisdictions. This includes tracking CLE requirements, monitoring deadlines, and proactively communicating with attorneys to ensure timely completion of their CLE obligations. The PDA also manages the accreditation process for the firm’s internal training programs by drafting and submitting accreditation proposals to the Texas State Bar and maintaining compliance with CLE reporting standards.
Beyond CLE-related duties, the PDA is responsible for organizing and coordinating both in-person and virtual training sessions. This includes scheduling training events, securing venues or virtual platforms, and ensuring that materials, such as PowerPoint presentations, are up to date and tailored to each session’s objectives. The role requires close collaboration with attorneys to modify and enhance presentation content for both internal and external audiences.
For external training programs, the PDA assists with travel arrangements, including booking flights, hotels, and transportation, ensuring a seamless experience for attorneys attending or presenting at conferences, seminars, or client trainings.
This position operates within the firm’s People and Culture team, working closely with the HR Business Partner to support broader professional development initiatives. The PDA reports directly to HR Business Partner and contributes to the firm’s commitment to fostering a learning-centered environment.
