Purpose

Understanding and Processing various types of Booking Requests placed by Customers and Confirm / Reject it in accordance to the rules and regulations of the CMA CGM Group.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To process the Booking Requests received from Customers through various channels (E-Mail, EDI) and Accept & Create or Reject bookings in the Core System (LARA).. In order to be able to perform this activity, which is highly Knowledge based, the below mentioned skill sets would be required to be able to perform well as per the expectations of this role,
  • Knowledge on Export Trade in General, and the Commercial aspects involved at Booking Stage.
  • Orientation and basic understanding towards Prevailing international rules, regulations & restrictions for different products / commodities for export and its significance and procedure requirements from international trade perspective – mainly carrier front and not shipper/consignee aspects.
  • Knowledge on Operations at Booking Stage (Equipment, different size, its check points to be monitored before allotting booking, Vessel Schedules, Space Management, Booking Reconciliation, Equipment Release, HS Code, & Container Seaports – POL – PODs, Sales Quotations and contracts and triggering of rates etc.)
  • General knowledge on different declaration/documents which need to be obtained from shipper before allotting/confirming booking for different products.
  • Knowledge of Reefer, DG, OOG, Hazardous, Break Bulk and any other special cargo booking process requirements and its related check points before confirming a booking.

Qualification: Graduates

Experience: 1 + Year experience in handling Bookings related to Container Shipping or related areas in the Shipping Industry

Certifications (if any): NA

Knowledge (Domain and IT):

  • Container Shipping Process (Export Trade)
  • Excellent Key Board & Typing skills
  • MS Office packages
  • Good understanding of World Geography
  • Container Shipping related terminologies & International rules, regulations & restrictions.
  • Knowledge on NVOCC, Ocean Freight Forwarding Background essentially in Booking and Customer Service Function.
