
During Summer Learning Academy, develops strategies and/or specialized Intervention or Prevention programs to improve the behavior of students who experience significant social-behavioral challenges.
The position requires a Master’s degree in Mental Health related area, Social Work, Education, Juvenile Justice, Special Education Psychology, School Counseling, School Psychology or equivalent State licensure or Board certification in area of specialization such as Guidance and Counseling, Mental Health, Alcohol and Drug Counseling, Clinical Social Work, Licensed Professional Counselor, Behavior Analyst or related area from the Tennessee Department of Mental Health or equivalent. Also required is a Valid Tennessee Driver’s license and two years of experience in area of specialization or equivalent.
The following special conditions are required:Commitment for the entire period of Summer Learning and attendance at the Summer Learning graduation. May involve missing some district training opportunities.Attendance at ALL preparatory planning sessions and periodic administrative meetings.Availability prior to the end of the regular school assignment contract to participate in Summer Learning setup and preparation.Availability for Summer Learning closeout operations which may occur after the new academic year contract has started.

Degree Equivalency Formula:
Bachelor’s Degree= 4 years plus required years of experience.
Master’s Degree= 2 years plus required years of experience. Where Master’s degrees are required, years for Bachelor’s Degrees must be included.
