Examples of duties

Possession of a current Louisiana license to practice as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) plus three years of licensed counseling experience.

Job Duties:

As a Professional Counselor 5, the incumbent will:

  • Provide advanced clinical consultation, supervision, program coordination, and oversight of an interdisciplinary team responsible for assessment, crisis intervention, stabilization, care coordination, peer support, case management, and linkage to appropriate levels of care.
  • Directly supervise assigned BHCC case management and provides clinical oversight and coordination of contracted certified peer support, registered nurses and counselors providing evening, nighttime, weekend, and holiday coverage.
  • Ensure continuity and quality of clinical services across all hours of BHCC operation and promotes integration of BHCC services with the broader behavioral health crisis continuum and community service system.
  • Serve as the clinical lead functions of a satellite site of an existing clinic and supports the delivery of ongoing outpatient behavioral health services to clients from the surrounding area when clinically appropriate.
  • Coordinate with the Nurse Practitioner and other clinical providers to support continuity of care and integration of routine behavioral health services with crisis and stabilization services.

Position-Specific Details:

Location: This position is located at SCLHSA's Behavioral Health Crisis Center (BHCC) located in Thibodaux, LA.

Appointment Type: This vacancy is being announced as a classified position and will be filled as a job appointment that may transfer into a probationary appointment at a future date.

Compensation: The actual starting salary depends on the education and experience of the selected applicant.

Schedule: Full-time schedule consisting of 8 hour shifts, Monday - Friday. Daily start and end times offer flexibility within operating hours, with late afternoon coverage required. Specific schedule will be discussed upon hire based on operational needs.
