We are looking for a Professional Counselor to provide treatment and clinical/administrative supervision of licensed behavioral health staff in our Tyler Behavioral Health Clinic. If you have experience in providing behavioral health assessments, intervention, treatment planning and counseling to individuals and their families and/or group therapy, this may be your opportunity to make a meaningful impact to the individuals we serve.

Examples of duties

Possession of a current Louisiana license to practice as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) plus three years of licensed counseling experience.

Job Duties:

  • Provides direct clinical supervision of Professional Counselors and Social Workers through review of cases to assist and guide subordinate staff in the development of skills in working with clients with behavioral health and/or addictive disorders.
  • Provides professional level behavioral health services including assessments, crisis intervention, treatment planning, individual, family, and group therapy to a highly complex caseload.
  • Administratively supervises staff including delegating case assignments, special projects, coordinating workflow and duty assignments.
  • Reviews, evaluates, and counsels subordinate staff regarding work performance and provides guidance and direction toward improving quality of care.
  • Collaborates with Clinic Manager to identify individual/team quality of services and makes recommendations regarding improvements in workflow, processes, policies, and procedures including coordination of care activities.
  • Documents and updates client information, and treatment plans in an EHR (Electronic Health Record) System as needed.
  • Works in accordance with the laws, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures of all applicable licensing/governmental agencies, accreditation bodies, and within the guidelines set by the Acadiana Area Human Services District.

Appointment Type: Probational or Promotional

Work Schedule: Monday – Friday; 40 hours/week

Location: This position is located in the Acadiana Area Human Services District – Tyler Behavioral Health Clinic

This AAHSD SITE is NHSC (National Health Service Corps) APPROVED. QUALIFYING PROFESSIONAL COUNSELORS MAY BE ELIGIBLE TO PARTICIPATE IN THE LOAN REPAYMENT PROGRAM.
