A-CAPP seeks an experienced Editorial Standards Consultant to develop and implement institutional editorial standards across its publications, reports, newsletters, and related communications. As an interdisciplinary academic center operating at the intersection of law, business, technology, and government, A-CAPP produces high-impact public-facing content for industry leaders, policymakers, scholars, and practitioners.
This role will establish a formal editorial style guide, strengthen consistency across institutional outputs, and provide editorial guidance for publications and strategic communications. The consultant will help build sustainable editorial systems while supporting quality assurance for key deliverables.
This role is an on-call, project-based position providing time-sensitive editorial support in 2 phases to be completed within 20 calendar days.
Phase 1: Editorial Inventory / Audit
Phase 2: Editorial Standards Guide Development
Compensation will be $900.00 in total that is paid in two payments coinsiding with completion of each phase.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree (minimum) in a related field
5+ years of professional editing, copyediting, or editorial consulting experience
Experience developing editorial style guides or institutional publishing standards
Strong familiarity with academic, policy, or professional publications
Exceptional attention to detail and editorial judgment
Ability to synthesize and standardize language across interdisciplinary subject matter
Experience with publication workflows and template-based content systems
Familiarity with Canva strongly preferred
Preferred Experience:
Academic center, think tank, policy institute, or higher education communications experience
Editing content for industry and practitioner audiences
Familiarity with legal, business, technology, or policy writing conventions
