The Production Test Technician Supervisor will lead a team of hourly employees spread across four different shifts for a lab that runs 24/7. The supervisor is responsible for the day by day management of the Production Test Technicians (PTT). The supervisor will also be responsible for leading and driving continuous improvement in all aspects of technician responsibilities whether that is process improvement, tooling, training or physical location of test assets. This is a full-time exempt position in which the work is performed under limited supervision by the Director, Manufacturing and Production Test and is evaluated on results obtained.

Onsite, Shift: Approximately 11:30AM – 8PM 5 days a week, OR 11:30AM – 9 PM for 9/80

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage and direct the activities of Production Test Technicians including
    • Daily priorities and goals
    • Ensure program needs are being met through the smoke watch system.
    • Provide clear pass-down communication between shifts
    • Coordinate Quality Support
    • Resolution of in-process anomalies
    • Technical guidance and on-going training regarding all production test activities
    • Process guidance and on-going training regarding test procedure interpterion, and IFS data entry, and production flow.
  • Manage technicians by assessing employee performance through meetings and performance reviews, providing positive/constructive feedback, facilitating conflict resolution, and addressing repeat issues with corrective actions, performance improvement plans, or through HR disciplinary actions.
  • Monitor and approve employee timecards
  • Perform technician tasks independently following all Production Test processes as required by workload or labor deficiencies.
  • Keep up to date on all preventative maintenance tasks within the Environmental lab. Coordinate with Test Engineering for items requiring calibration.
  • Provide and/or coordinate training for technician team filling gaps in knowledge.
  • Define staffing and equipment requirements to support company goals and commitments.
  • Establish and analyze area metrics to drive:
    • Optimization of product flow through the Environmental lab
    • Efficiency improvement projects
    • Identification and elimination of defects within test process
    • Reduction of downtime for product and personnel

Qualifications

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree or 5+ years of professional experience in a manufacturing/production environment
  • 1+ years of experience leading a team or project
  • 5 years of experience in a production test environment
  • Experience with Microsoft Office; Able to plot data in excel.
  • Experience effectively communicating (verbal and written) with both production and engineering teams
  • Experience building, leading and consistently maintaining cohesive teams
  • Organized and self-driven, capable of working independently with little direction in a fast-paced/cross-functional environment
  • Ability to read, interpret controlled documentation, and processes such as: mechanical drawings, schematics, assembly procedures/work instructions, engineering drawings, parts lists, wiring diagrams, or layout drawings.

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience within an aerospace environment
  • Experience with Thermal Cycle Chambers, Thermal Vacuum Chambers, Vibration Table, Shock Table.
  • Demonstrable hands-on skill in fault finding, problem resolution
  • Familiarity with BOM or ERP management tools, work order and assembly traveler management tools, data analysis in spreadsheets, and extraction and documentation of test data from lab test equipment.
  • Experience with Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) & Foreign Object Debris (FOD) reduction / prevention methods

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Available to work extended hours and weekends as needed
  • Respond to phone calls for assistance in off hours
  • Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs. unassisted
  • Standing for long periods of time, climbing up and down ladders, bending, grasping, sitting, pulling, pushing, stooping, and stretching may be required to perform the functions of this position

Additional Information

Compensation: Base pay range is $75,000-95,000 depending on qualifications. SEAKR has very rich medical, dental and vision insurance plans, along with a generous 401(k) retirement plan. In addition to base salary, employees are eligible for a year-end bonus. SEAKR offers a variety of paid leave, such as vacation, sick, bereavement, and FMLA.
