This role is aligned to the Coffee Operating Unit

Production Technician II - Knoxville, TN

The Production Technician II is responsible for operating and monitoring production machinery to maximize production and maintaining Keurig Dr Pepper’s high standards in safety and quality. This role will also be responsible for demonstrating and applying knowledge of manufacturing processes to the improvement of safety, quality, delivery, cost and culture.

This role will work in our Coffee Processing area of Production.

Shift and Schedule

This is a fulltime position on N1: Monday - Thursday from 6:00pm - 6:30am. Flexibility to work overtime and weekend as needed is required.

What you will do:

Safety

  • Actively participates in multiple peer to peer observations per the defined schedule to ensure the safety and health of all peers. Actively engaged in the Safety Observation/ Peer to Peer coaching/feedback discussion.
  • Ongoing demonstration of commitment to safety behaviors for self and others.
  • Demonstrate an understanding to complete or participates in job hazard/risk analysis.

Quality

  • Coaching and sharing knowledge with other operators and temporary employees with paperwork, confirm accuracy and completeness.
  • Actively engages in shift handoff to identify issues that require attention/correction and drive resolution.
  • Actively participates /leads Root Cause Corrective Analysis
  • Corrective Action & Preventive Action events.

Delivery

  • Interpret data collected via Daily Management Systems and determine root cause & corrective actions.
  • Cooperating and planning with other shifts to address handoff issues.
  • Coach team members on standard work.
  • Write or edit standard work documents. Challenge standard work ideas to improve processes. Able to answer questions and assist peers with applicable systems, including in non-standard situations.
  • Able to identify and address minor equipment and material issues make adjustments. Identify technical issues with or without maintenance.
  • Gathers data on equipment issues to contribute to problem solving. Actively participates/leads problem solving process on issues internal to the line team.
  • Ability to work effectively & rotate into other zones and/or production lines.

Cost

  • Monitor and actively participates /leads waste reduction on the line.
  • Actively engaged in execution of productivity/Continuous Process Improvement initiatives.
  • Actively participates /leads Root Cause Corrective Analysis and supports the implementation of countermeasures and follow up actions.

Total Rewards:

  • Pay starting at $27.16 per hour plus a $1.00 shift differential. The employee will move to a higher rate of $28.56 per hour in the quarter after their 6-month anniversary.

Requirements:

  • Associates degree in electrical engineering and or equivalent experience preferred
  • 5 years’ experience maintaining, troubleshooting, & repairing mechanical & electrical/controls/PLC systems (Allen-Bradley systems experience preferred, including, but not limited to, the Rockwell FactoryTalk suite of software, Logix platform, & proficient understanding of Allen-Bradley industrial networks, including but not limited to Device net)
  • Experience with variable speed & servo drive programming & function (prefer Allen-Bradley)
  • Experience with robotic control systems (prefer GE-Fanuc)
  • Possess a good understanding of computer & industrial networks
  • Ability to read, understand, & follow complex instructions, prints, & schematics
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to positively cooperate & communicate with coworkers, contractors, & management in a team environment
  • Ability to obtain operator certification on designated equipment
  • Able to work on ladders & lifts (as applicable & recommended) up to heights of 60 feet
  • Ability to wear OSHA-approved personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Ability to bend, lift & stretch on a regular basis
  • Ability to follow Keurig Dr Pepper policies & procedures
  • Ability to consistently interact with others in a cooperative, respectful, & professional way
  • Positive attitude with ability to work a fast-paced environment & overcome challenges

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Ability to lift 75 pounds frequently with mechanical assistance
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds on a regular basis & 100 pounds occasionally
  • Ability to frequently kneel, squat, bend, & stoop
  • Ability to repetitively lift, twist, stretch, & reach overhead
  • Ability to stand during entire shift
  • Ability to push/pull up to 1,500 pounds using supplied equipment (e.g., pallet jack)
  • Ability to work around creosote & chaff dust
  • Ability to work in confined spaces for prolonged periods in compliance with OSHA regulations
  • Ability to work with cleaning solutions & degreasers
  • Significant keyboarding/computer work required (25% of the workday).
