Job Description
Under the direction of the production supervisor, the Production Technical Lead, is responsible to ensure the production line meets all requirements i.e. (SOP) Standard Operating Procedures, Health and Safety and (GMP) Good Manufacturing Practices. Ensure the line is operating effectively and efficiently at all times.

Summary: Supervises the overall operations of their room by setting priorities and following-through with each individual ownership of equipment during the shift. The position is responsible for scheduling personnel for safety, quality, preventative maintenance and change over tasks, making sure people and product are safe and production is delivering as per schedule.
Responsibilities:
- Monitoring equipment to standard running conditions – ideally free of defects – with the support of production technical operators. For i.e., monitoring baking pan conveyor transitions, finding outages and scheduling fixes by the team if not running smoothly.
- Maintains a safe, productive and respectful working environment by listening actively and providing feedback and coaching to production technical operators
- Build technical capabilities of production technical operators on systems (defect handling, standard work, centerlining, preventative maintenance) and equipment (based on SW Instructions on how to perform tasks, understanding of processes and troubleshooting)
- Changeover planning, execution and startup with defined tasks per individual, for i.e. flow wrapper and robotic pick and place systems changeovers
- Troubleshooting of any abnormalities of equipment and process with the support of production technical operators
- Perform basic breakdown repairs on equipment with the support of production technical operators and maintenance team, for i.e. conveyors bearing replacement
- Guaranteeing systems are in place for a healthy and planned operation, for i.e. centerlining being followed as per changeover plans, preventative maintenance is being followed as per PMs plan in Interal, standard work and instructions are being followed
- Lead equipment and process ownership to each production technical operator to reduce variability and increase efficiency (Center Lining, Defect Handling, 5S)
- Lead and coach development of Standard Work and Standard Work instructions.
- Ensure Process Stability to develop and engage to own your equipment and surrounding areas.
- Responsible to demonstrate capacity to work well with others in a results manner
- Pursue continuous improvement in root cause problem-solving and meeting PDC’s objectives.
- Ensure daily adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Personal Protection Equipment (PPE), Standard Operating Procedures, product quality or safety.
- Effective implementation and adherence to company’s Food Safety and Quality Policies and Procedures including but not limited to SQF, HACCP and GMP to ensure food safety and quality of products manufactured.
- Participate in Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement activities.
- Whenever Food Safety & Quality concerns are noted, the employees are empowered to stop the production lines to help resolve the problem and to ensure food produced is of highest safety & quality standard .
- Performs other duties as requested by Production Supervisor.
Requirements:
Education/Certifications:
- Trade school Degree preferred / High School Diploma with industry experience
- Basic mechanical skills and experience to perform preventative maintenance such as inspections, lubrication and minor equipment repairs
Experience:
- A minimum of 2-3 of manufacturing experience; in a food manufacturing environment is highly preferred
- History of achievement and demonstrated effective work performance
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Must be able to effectively manage and supervise employees and processes positively to achieve business goals and results.
- Must be able to operate a computer and current related software and hardware.
- Change agent with strong analytical abilities.
- Must have strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Must have strong positive people skills
- Must have an experience on Lockout/Tagout procedures
- Must be able to adapt to change
Working Conditions Notations:
- Work involves daily exposure to unusual elements, such as dirt, dust, fumes, extreme temperatures, humidity, darkness, and noise.
- Work environment involves daily exposure to physical risks, such as working around mechanical, chemical, and electrical hazards.
- Position requires the ability to stand for long periods; lifting and carrying packages up to 50 pounds; utilizing fine dexterity; and reaching, kneeling, crawling, and twisting to inspect equipment. Also requires the ability to see, hear, and communicate with associates and others by utilizing professional etiquette.
- Personal protective equipment, as defined by C.H. Guenther and Son, will be provided
