Salary Range: $24.00 - $40.00 Hourly

Position Title: Production Technician
Reporting to: Production Manager
Department: Production

JOB SUMMARY                                                             
The Production Tech assembles custom-built diesel and natural gas-powered electric generators and motorized equipment by interpreting blueprint specifications, using hand tools, precision measuring instruments and machine tools.  Reports to the Production Foreman and responsible for consistent and efficient workmanship in a team-based environment, meeting customer deadlines with quality finished products.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Read and interpret assembly blueprints and specifications and plan manual assembly of custom generator units
- Assemble systems, verify conformance of parts to stock lists and blueprints, using measuring instruments such as calipers, gauges and micrometers – both metric and standard measurements
- Fasten and install generator components such as piping, fixtures, wiring and electrical components to form assemblies or subassemblies, using hand tools and rivet guns.
- Position and align components for assembly, manually or using hoists
- Set and verify parts clearances to specifications
- Inspect, operate and test completed products to verify functionality, machine capabilities and conformance to customer specifications
- Complete all timekeeping requirements to track labor in jobs
- Complete all quality control paperwork per job as directed
- Notify production foreman upon completion of assembly
- May be required to wear a respirator
- Comply with all regulations
- Adhere to the assembly process while maintaining a safe and clean work environment
- Other responsibilities as designated by and at the discretion of management

QualificationsQUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma or equivalent required. A technical school certificate in a related field such as Automotive/Diesel Technology
- Minimum of two (2) years of mechanical, assembly or electrical preferred
- A good working knowledge of equipment operations and mechanical functions
- Strong diagnostic skills
- Ability to consistently repair and assemble components and equipment
- Strong mechanical skills.
- Good written and verbal communications skills
- Commitment to maintaining a safe working environment
WORK CONDITIONS 
Physical Demands/Work Environment:  
This position regularly requires walking, standing, sitting, stooping, bending, kneeling and climbing stairs.  It also often requires pushing, pulling, twisting, lifting 50+ lbs. and working in a variety of weather conditions and noise levels.  This list is not meant to cover every possible scenario but simply provides an outline.  Employees may be assigned other tasks as needed.
