Job Description

JAC Products is seeking Team Leaders for our fabrication business unit to join our team in Saline, MI on 1st and 3rd shift. As a team leader, you will be responsible for ensuring that assigned work cells are set up according to the proper Manufacturing Cadence requirements, and that the operators in those cells are certified, following all relevant work instructions, quality checks, routine preventative maintenance activities and all other relevant policies and practices.

Your Contributions:

• Conducts operator certification training and monitors the development of the employees in their assigned work cells.
• Responsible for the performance of assigned work cells in accordance with the manufacturing cadence.
• Responsible for ensuring that production support groups are present and addressing work cell issues in a timely manner.
• Rotates operators as needed on all assigned lines so that standard work for the appropriate manning at the cell is followed.
• Responsible for the maintenance of kiosk boards.
• Facilitates daily shift start-up meeting.
• Performs weekly preventative maintenance and issue maintenance requests for safety/equipment issues.
• Verification of Operator Start-up Sheets and First Piece Checks, approval of Green Tags, and updates data books with shift to shift communication.
• Performs part inspection and gaging checks for all assigned work cells.
• Address fixture validation issues (reset and log).
• Alerts Production Supervisor of incidents requiring safety or quality stand-downs.

What you need as a Team Leader:

• Ability to maintain a team-oriented working environment that allows for individual differences and provide individual growth.
• 2-3 years of previous experience in a production environment with demonstrated leadership responsibilities.
• Successful demonstration of product assembly, safety and quality systems/policies - preferably in a tier 1 or 2 automotive manufacturing environment.
