Job Description

The Production Team Leader is responsible for the successful operations of the production floor during their shift. They ensure projects are being produced efficiently and each process of a project is being completed within its allocated time.

Supervisory/Responsibilities:

  • Works with Director of Operations to hire staff for shift.
  • Organizes, and assigns projects to direct reports.
  • Coaches, trains, and mentors’ direct reports.
  • Holds team member accountable for productivity metrics.
  • Reviews and approves timecards weekly
  • Manages time-off requests for direct reports and ensures that enough staff is available to meet workload requirements.
  • Conducts performance evaluations on direct reports that are timely and constructive.
  • Follows and enforces all company policies and standard operating procedures.
  • Handles discipline as needed and in accordance with company policies.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Reference job tickets to capture project information and determine best means for output.
  • Sets up and operates high speed copiers, printers, large format machines and scanners to produce client requested projects.
  • Manage production deadlines to ensure projects are completed on time.
  • Produce at or below the allocated time defined for each project process.
  • Operate finishing equipment which includes but not limited to cutters, laminators, and binding machines.
  • Properly track all job totals so billing can be accurate.
  • Quality control projects throughout the project life cycle to ensure desired results are met, correcting any mistakes as needed.
  • Final inspections of all completed projects before they leave the production floor.
  • Point of contact for sales and service teams when rush jobs come in.
  • Resolve questions and project issues with sales and service departments.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all client materials.
  • Other production tasks as assigned by Director of Operations.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Possess strong time management, communication, and attention to detail.
  • Understands basic math.
  • Strong computer knowledge.
  • Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications and Adobe products preferred.
  • Ability to operate a desktop computer, scanner and other common office equipment including copiers, printers, etc.
  • Strong leadership qualities which include the ability to motivate and influence others.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum of a high school diploma, associate degree preferred

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer or other office equipment.
  • Prolonged periods of standing in front of office equipment.
  • Occasional bending, kneeling, pushing, and pulling carts
  • Must be able to lift to 50 pounds at times.
