Our commercial portfolio includes market-leading vaccines against smallpox/mpox, rabies, tick-borne encephalitis, chikungunya, typhoid fever, and cholera. We excel in R&D innovation, manufacturing, and commercialization—working every day to protect people’s health and quality of life and protecting our tomorrow.

For our External Manufacturing (ExtMfg) department, we are now seeking a Production support– vaccine manufacturing specialist where you will be part of a team of six located in Germany and Denmark – this role is located in Kvistgaard, Denmark and you are reporting to the Head of ExtMfg MSAT. This is a temporary position for 18 months after hire date.

The ExtMfg team plays a critical role in ensuring that patients around the globe receive safe, reliable, and high‑quality vaccines. We work closely with an international network of contract manufacturing partners (CMOs) to ensure every product meets the highest technical and regulatory standards.

The role
You will be part of the CMO core team to technically and scientifically ensure smooth, compliant, and efficient manufacturing operations at our CMOs. You will collaborate closely with the CMO manager and respective QA.

This position is well suited to a professional who thrives in a highly collaborative environment, where GMP operations, technical expertise, and problem-solving come together to deliver meaningful impact.

Key Responsibilities

  • First point of contact for operational challenges and quality events at the CMO

  • Ensure GMP compliance and operational excellence across manufacturing activities performed by CMOs

  • Lead investigations, root cause analyses, troubleshooting, and implementation of corrective and preventive actions and ensure documentation is according to GDP

  • Drive performance improvement through process monitoring, trend analysis, and KPI management

  • Partner with internal stakeholders and CMOs to support reliable product supply and inspection readiness

What you bring
To become a success in this role, it is important that you bring solid experience from a similar role; working closely with external partners and demanding stakeholders in a GMP regulated industry. A strong understanding of aseptic operations and unlabeled drug product processes is relevant.

Besides this, we are looking for someone with a relevant degree (BSc or higher) in pharmacy, chemistry, (bio)engineering, or equivalent. In addition, you also have

  • Experience working in quality management systems like Veeva

  • Strong communication skills and fluency in English, also in writing

  • Structured problem‑solving mindset with a high degree of ownership and accountability

Why this role
This is an opportunity to play a pivotal role in delivering vaccines to patients worldwide. Working closely with CMOs and cross-functional stakeholders, you will combine technical expertise, GMP knowledge, and problem-solving skills to ensure reliable manufacturing operations, drive continuous improvement, and contribute to a secure and compliant supply of life-saving products.
