AGI Hi Roller manufactures a line of premier commercial enclosed, dust-tight and self-reloading conveyors, designed for installation in grain handling facilities, soy and corn processing operations and industrial operations. It specializes exclusively in the design and application of conveyors which will not only contain dust and spilled materials but will also automatically reload that material back on the carrying surface of the belt.

The Opportunity

The Production Supervisor on the night shift will be responsible for providing supervision, administration, and technical direction for team members and ensure work is occurring in an efficient and effective manner. Through coordinating with the Production Manager, the Production Supervisor ensures that production requirements are met to assist in the smooth flow of order to delivery, all while adhering and contributing to a strong safety culture.

The Team

Our large production team consists of powder coaters, welders, assemblers, metal fabricators, and more. As a Production Supervisor you will report to the Production Manager and will oversee all departments on the night shift.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish and monitor department performance for Safety, Quality, and Productivity.
  • Responsible for communicating nightly production goals and reporting status to Production Manager.
  • Collaborate with Production Manager and Engineering staff to troubleshoot production/design issues.
  • Participate in production meetings.
  • Assist with the selection and orientation of new team members, working with Human Resources and Production Manager.
  • Develop/maintain positive employee relations and resolution of employee issues and concerns.
  • Conduct and prepare annual performance appraisals and individual developmental plans.
  • Provide direction, development and leadership to staff.
  • Managing team members timecards, tracking attendance, vacation time and overtime.
  • Cooperate with all areas within the company to ensure overall company goals are met.
  • Follow AGI’s Code of Business Ethics and related compliance policies.
  • Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Leadership Responsibility

  • Number of direct reports: 8-10 (subject to change as business needs change)

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Experience in Production or Operations management in a similar manufacturing environment.
  • 3-5 years' progressive experience in in a manufacturing environment with two of those years in a supervisory role.
  • Proven experience working on a night shift.
  • Proven experience in team leadership, employee coaching, process improvement, and production planning.
  • Strong leadership and team-building skills with the ability to motivate and develop employees in a manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities, particularly in resolving fabrication and production changes.
  • Proficient in process improvement methodologies such as Lean Manufacturing and Total Productive Maintenance.
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment with shifting demands.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively interact with employees, leadership, and cross-functional teams.
  • Proficient with computers and various manufacturing and production software applications to track performance, plan schedules, and monitor quality control.
  • Knowledge of OSHA and workplace safety regulations relevant to metal fabrication and manufacturing operations.
