Job Description

Purpose of the Role:
The Production Supervisor leads and motivates tradesmen to safely deliver high-quality work that meets project plans and standards. This role ensures that work is executed efficiently, on time, and in full alignment with budget, quality, and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement daily/weekly task plans aligned with production goals.
  • Lead toolbox meetings and ensure compliance with HSE protocols (JSEA, PPE, Permits).
  • Monitor labour and material usage, reduce rework, and promote cost-efficient operations.
  • Ensure adherence to quality standards and customer satisfaction.
  • Track team skills and performance and implement coaching and corrective actions as needed.
  • Promote accountability, teamwork, and Austal's values across the department.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Graduate of any relevant course or degree. (Trade course is an advantage.)
  • At least 3 years' experience in trade-specific shipbuilding.
  • Hands-on technical know-how in trade-specific drawing interpretation.
  • At least 2 years of supervisory experience.
  • Strong leadership, planning, and decision-making skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office and able to interpret technical drawings.
  • Knowledge of occupational health, safety, and first aid (preferred).
