Job Description

The Production Supervisor is responsible for leading the 2nd shift Injection Molding operation to ensure the safe, efficient, and compliant manufacturing of high-quality products. This role provides direct supervision of molding technicians, operators, material handlers, and support personnel while driving safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and employee engagement objectives.

The supervisor will work closely with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Maintenance, Planning, and Continuous Improvement teams to support production schedules, optimize equipment performance, resolve manufacturing issues, and develop a high-performing workforce within a regulated manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Safety Leadership

  • Foster a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with all EHS policies and procedures.

  • Conduct daily safety observations and corrective actions as needed.

  • Lead incident investigations and implement preventive actions.

  • Ensure safe operation of injection molding equipment, automation systems, and material handling processes.

Production Management

  • Manage daily production activities across molding presses and secondary operations.

  • Ensure production schedules are achieved while meeting quality and customer requirements.

  • Monitor shift performance against established KPIs.

  • Coordinate staffing and resources to meet production demands.

  • Lead shift handoff and communication between production teams.

Quality & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with GMP, ISO, and applicable quality system requirements.

  • Drive adherence to approved processes, work instructions, and documentation.

  • Partner with Quality teams on investigations, CAPAs, and nonconformance resolution.

  • Promote right-first-time manufacturing practices.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Directly supervise production operators, technicians, and support personnel.

  • Provide coaching, performance management, and employee development.

  • Conduct regular one-on-one meetings and performance reviews.

  • Support training and cross-training initiatives to enhance workforce flexibility.

  • Build a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

Operational Excellence

  • Drive productivity, scrap reduction, cycle time improvements, and OEE initiatives.

  • Identify and remove production bottlenecks.

  • Support Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement activities.

  • Lead escalation and resolution of equipment, material, and process issues.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Manufacturing Engineering on process improvements and validation activities.

  • Collaborate with Maintenance to ensure equipment uptime and preventive maintenance execution.

  • Work with Planning and Supply Chain to align production schedules and inventory requirements.

  • Support new product introductions, transfers, and capacity expansion projects.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, or related discipline preferred.

  • Associate degree with significant manufacturing leadership experience considered.

  • Minimum 5 years of manufacturing experience.

  • Minimum 2 years of supervisory or leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.

  • Experience supporting injection molding operations required.

  • Strong understanding of production scheduling, quality systems, and manufacturing processes.

  • Experience leading teams in a regulated manufacturing environment preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with medical devices, life sciences, diagnostics, or consumables manufacturing.

  • Knowledge of scientific injection molding principles.

  • Experience with automation systems and robotics.

  • Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or Continuous Improvement experience.

  • Experience with SAP, MES, or manufacturing systems.

This job has a full time weekly schedule. Applications for this job will be accepted until at least July 27, 2026 or until the job is no longer posted.The full-time equivalent pay range for this position is $84,160.00 - $131,500.00/yr plus eligibility for bonus, stock and benefits. Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
