Responsible for leading daily operations of the fabrication department to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality production. This role supervises shop personnel, establishes priorities, drives continuous improvement, and ensures alignment with production schedules and company performance targets.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities
· Supervise and coordinate daily fabrication activities
· Assign work, set priorities, and monitor production schedules
· Enforce safety programs and ensure PPE compliance
· Maintain shop floor presence to ensure safe operations
· Ensure products meet quality and engineering standards
· Diagnose production issues and implement corrective actions
· Drive continuous improvement and 5S initiatives
· Recommend improvements to increase productivity and reduce waste
· Lead, coach, and develop team members
· Collaborate with engineering, quality, and operations teams
Requirements
· Ability to work independently
· Ability to lead in a fast-paced environment
· Strong communication and problem-solving skills
· Flexibility to work different shifts
Working Conditions
Manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery, noise, and indoor/outdoor conditions.
Physical Requirements
Standing, walking, bending, lifting, climbing, and use of PPE including safety glasses, steel-toe boots, and hearing protection.
Education: High school diploma or equivalent
Undergrad preferred
Experience: 3–5+ years in fabrication/manufacturing; with prior supervisory experience
Skills: Knowledge of fabrication processes, ability to read drawings, lean/5S experience, leadership and problem-solving skills
Computer skills: Office required
