7:00pm - 7:00am; 2-2-3 schedule

This position will train on 1st shift.

Position Summary

The Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and directing daily production operations to ensure safe, efficient, timely, and high-quality manufacturing. This position provides leadership and accountability for Assistant Team Leaders, Set-Up Technicians, Operators, and other assigned production employees. The Production Supervisor coordinates production activities, monitors productivity and performance, supports employee development, addresses operational and employee issues, and ensures compliance with company policies, procedures, quality standards, and safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Leadership and Supervision
  • Provide day-to-day leadership, direction, and accountability for employees.
  • Plan, assign, and communicate daily production priorities to meet production schedules, customer requirements, and operational goals.
  • Lead, motivate, coach, and develop employees to achieve performance, attendance, quality, safety, and productivity expectations.
  • Monitor employee performance and provide timely feedback, coaching, and corrective action when appropriate.
  • Participate in employee evaluations, staffing decisions, interviews, onboarding, and other employment-related activities as assigned.
  • Communicate company policies, procedures, expectations, and operational updates clearly and consistently.
  • Promote accountability, teamwork, professionalism, and respectful workplace behavior.
  1. Operations and Support
  • Oversee daily production activities and ensure production schedules are executed effectively.
  • Monitor production output, labor utilization, downtime, scrap, quality, and other key performance indicators.
  • Identify production issues and coordinate appropriate corrective actions to minimize downtime and maintain productivity.
  • Coordinate with Maintenance, Quality, Engineering, Shipping, and other departments to address operational needs and constraints.
  • Ensure products are manufactured according to established specifications, work instructions, quality requirements, and customer expectations.
  • Ensure production areas, equipment, and materials are organized and available to support efficient operations.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives designed to improve safety, quality, productivity, efficiency, and customer service.
  1. Safety and Compliance
  • Ensure safe working conditions are maintained throughout the production area.
  • Promote adherence to company safety policies, procedures, and proper use of required PPE.
  • Address unsafe behaviors and conditions promptly and communicate safety expectations consistently.
  • Participate in safety investigations, corrective actions, training, and continuous safety improvement activities as needed.

Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education in manufacturing, business, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of manufacturing or factory experience required. Experience within extrusion manufacturing is preferred.
  • Prior supervisory or leadership experience in a manufacturing environment required.
  • Strong leadership, planning, organizational, and motivational skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to resolve production issues.
  • Ability to understand production schedules, work instructions, quality requirements, and performance metrics.
  • Ability to use basic computer systems and production-related software.

Physical Demands

This position requires light to moderate physical effort, including lifting up to 50 pounds. Regularly requires standing, sitting, reaching, and moving about the facility. Eye, ear, and footwear protection are required in designated areas.
