Role Overview:

Responsibilities include supervising the daily activities of the production staff assigned to their shift to ensure the safe, cost effective, and timely manufacture of product that is fit for intended use and meets customer requirements and production schedule. The Production Supervisor will serve as the acting Production Manager while on shift in the absence of the Production Manager.

Core Responsibilities:

• Promote a positive, professional, and safe work environment by demonstrating integrity and a strong work ethic; ensure team members understand performance expectations and have the knowledge, skills, training, and tools needed to perform their duties effectively.
• Provide timely positive and constructive feedback, support employee development objectives, manage employee relations and performance matters, and administer Company policies fairly and consistently.
• Effectively utilize staff, materials, and equipment to produce quality products safely and at optimal productivity; monitor inventory and production supply levels, anticipate risks, communicate issues, and lead improvements that increase efficiency, reduce costs, and maximize profitability.
• Ensure all work, pharmaceutical systems, facility documentation, controlled substances, and production activities comply with Company SOPs, FDA cGMPs, DEA requirements, and applicable safety, health, and environmental regulations; host internal and external inspections and maintain appropriate housekeeping and 5S standards.
• Organize and facilitate employee training in collaboration with appropriate departments; track and analyze training data to confirm effectiveness and employee proficiency.
• Provide leadership for problem resolution and build strong working relationships with Analytical/QC, Quality Assurance, Material Control, Maintenance, Project Management, Development teams, clients, and EHS; ensure real-time communication with QC regarding changes to production plans.
• Maintain accurate operational documentation and reports, including production, material usage, and shift handover reports; monitor equipment condition and status and partner with Maintenance to resolve issues, coordinate scheduled activities, and improve equipment performance.
• Support production schedules by performing Production Lead and/or Production Technician duties as needed; participate in the Emergency Response Team and required training, promptly report incidents, complete or lead investigations when directed, and communicate progress and results against goals to team members, peers, supervisors, and management.

Qualifications:

• AA/BA or equivalent with a minimum of five years of experience in a STEM field; or a high school diploma and/or Pharmaceutical Certification or equivalent with a minimum of 10 years of experience.
• Experience working in a production Kilo-Lab and/or Plant.
• Ability to apply scientific and/or technical knowledge in the performance of job duties is desirable. Prior basic production laboratory skills and a solid understanding of GMP and FDA regulations are desirable.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret English-language materials and write clearly and neatly.
• Good written and verbal communication skills, including experience communicating effectively with peers and managers.
• Demonstrated attention to detail, problem-solving and multitasking skills, sound judgment, and the ability to make decisions with guidance from senior team members or a supervisor.
• Good understanding of Microsoft Office and the ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Must be able to work rotating shifts. While performing the duties of this job, it is required to stand, walk, and use hands to operate objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands or arms; climb, balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch when necessary for job activity. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds using available material-handling equipment.

Salary Range:

The salary range for this role is $110,000–$120,000. This range represents a good‑faith estimate of the compensation we expect to offer for this position at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be based on factors such as relevant experience, skills, qualifications, and internal equity. In exceptional cases, compensation may exceed the stated range.

All full-time employees are eligible to participate in our annual incentive bonus program. Bonus targets vary by career level and are based on individual and company performance.
