Production Supervisors direct, organize, and oversee activities within the operations team related to production, inventory management, quality, and safety. These highly motivated leaders are responsible for ensuring efficient production, optimizing resources and work center utilization, and achieving production plans while promoting a safe, disciplined, and high-performance work environment.

The Production Supervisor leads operational activities across machining, welding, assembly, and mechanical testing, ensuring compliance with established policies, procedures, quality standards, labor regulations, and Flowserve’s safety and environmental requirements.

Responsibilities & Requirements

  • Plan, schedule, prioritize, and assign daily production orders across different work centers, balancing operational capacity to optimize manufacturing flow.
  • Lead and supervise technical and operational teams within manufacturing or machine shop environments.
  • Monitor and manage key manufacturing KPIs, including machine utilization, labor efficiency, productivity, scrap, rework, and On-Time Delivery.
  • Analyze production performance and identify bottlenecks, process deviations, and opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Apply Lean Manufacturing methodologies and problem-solving tools, including AMEF, VSM, 6S, SMED, and structured root-cause analysis.
  • Promote and maintain a culture of operational discipline, organization, and continuous improvement through the daily application of 5S/6S.
  • Demonstrate basic knowledge of CNC programming and machining processes.
  • Support statistical process control and ensure production activities meet technical specifications, drawings, dimensional tolerances, and quality requirements.
  • Work closely with Quality to ensure compliance with applicable standards and customer requirements.
  • Manage production personnel, including attendance, work schedules, shift assignments, overtime, and compliance with company policies and applicable labor regulations.
  • Review and authorize requirements for production materials, cutting tools, supplies, and spare parts in coordination with Supply Chain.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 quality management requirements and promote a zero-defect culture.
  • Lead and enforce safety practices in accordance with ISO 45001, including LOTO, AST/ART, work permits, safety talks, PPE requirements, and other SHEA procedures.
  • Ensure personnel maintain all required safety training and certifications.
  • Support internal and external SHEA audits, planned inspections, emergency drills, and safety committee activities.
  • Promote compliance with ISO 14001 environmental requirements, including appropriate management of cutting fluids, metal scrap, and hazardous and non-hazardous industrial waste.
  • Participate in technical project meetings, operations committees, and process audits, providing practical solutions to improve the profitability, quality, and efficiency of the service center.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Preferred Experience / Skills

  • Advanced knowledge of leadership, management, and administration of technical teams in manufacturing, industrial services, or machine shop environments.
  • Proven ability to plan, schedule, and balance production workload across machining, welding, assembly, and testing work centers.
  • Strong experience managing production KPIs and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Experience with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 management systems.
  • Knowledge of international industrial standards, including ASME, ASTM, and API.
  • Desirable knowledge of welding standards such as AWS and ASME.
  • Ability to manage complex technical contingencies, equipment downtime, production priorities, and schedule changes while maintaining a calm and decisive leadership approach.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact effectively with operators, engineers, local management, and global corporate teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach to operational decision-making.

Education / Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related engineering field from a formally recognized higher education institution.
  • BS or BA Degree in a relevant field and 5–7 years of relevant experience in manufacturing, production, operations, or industrial services.
  • Candidates should have demonstrated experience in leadership, shift supervision, or shop management within manufacturing or metalworking environments.
