Vitro Meadville is looking for a Shift Supervisor to help direct and supervises activities on incumbent’s shift and respective line operations in order to meet plant objectives with respect to safety, housekeeping, quality, productivity, cost, customer requirements, and employee relations in accordance with objectives. Must use discretionary judgment to compensate for product deviations, giving consideration to operating restrictions, costs, and customer requirements. Responsible for ensuring the safety and well being of all employees; recommend safety improvements, enforces safety rules, and conducts safety meetings. The position requires the incumbent to develop innovative skills and techniques; make best use of the resources available. This is a rotating shift position that switches between nightshift and dayshift.

Responsibilities:

Ensure full compliance with VITRO safety standards to avoid serious injury and ensure a safe and healthy work environment for all employees.

Provide prompt and effective supervision to production departments to support the attainment of plant production goals.Coordinates the Manpower Scheduling for their area.

Conduct effective evaluation, counseling and appropriate training and provide equal opportunity of all personnel to achieve maximum development of individual capabilities.

Provide effective leadership required to meet the outgoing quality goals of the plant through appropriate programs for quality

Enforces company policy by utilizing the progressive discipline structure.
