NOVO Health Services is seeking a hands-on 1st Shift Production Supervisor to lead daily operations within the Soil department, driving performance across safety, quality, productivity, and employee engagement.

This role is responsible for overseeing a team of production associates on 1st shift, ensuring efficient workflow, regulatory compliance, and consistent service delivery to our healthcare partners.

The ideal candidate is a strong floor leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment, develops teams, and drives operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Operations & Production

  • Lead daily 1st shift production operations within the Soil department to achieve safety, quality, delivery, and cost goals
  • Ensure production schedules are met while optimizing labor utilization and workflow efficiency
  • Partner with Maintenance, Quality, and Plant Leadership to address operational issues and improve performance

Leadership & Team Development

  • Supervise, coach, and develop production associates to promote engagement, accountability, and teamwork
  • Support onboarding, training, and performance management of production staff
  • Assist with staffing, scheduling, and coverage planning

Safety & Compliance

  • Enforce all safety policies and procedures in compliance with OSHA and NOVO standards
  • Maintain a strong safety-first culture and proactively address hazards and unsafe behaviors

Quality & Performance

  • Monitor quality standards to ensure products meet NOVO and customer requirements
  • Identify and support continuous improvement opportunities
  • Track and communicate key production and safety metrics
  • Support standard work, audits, and compliance initiatives

Qualifications

Required

  • High School Diploma required; Bachelor's Degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, Business, or a related field preferred
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a production supervision or industrial/manufacturing environment
  • Demonstrated knowledge of production processes, equipment, and safety protocols
  • Proven experience leading hourly teams and supporting employee development
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Ability to lead in a fast-paced, safety-critical environment

Preferred

  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or similar Continuous Improvement certification
  • Experience leading 5S initiatives and Kaizen events in a high-volume environment
  • Prior experience in a healthcare-adjacent or highly regulated manufacturing environment is a plus
  • Experience using ERP or WMS software to track production data and labor
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) communication skills

Physical & Work Environment Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, push, and pull for extended periods
  • Ability to lift up to 35 lbs
  • Ability to work in a noisy, industrial environment
  • Willingness to work 1st shift hours, including occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
