Job Description

The Production Supervisor is responsible for front-line leadership in day-to-day operations of a designated production team including safety, quality, and production. Directly manage and coordinate the activities of production workers and will be responsible for all facets of shift operation. Ensure that the highest standards of quality and customer satisfaction are met and will maintain a focus on safety and continuous process improvement. Fostering Teamwork, managing change, managing performance, attention to communication, demonstrated leadership experience, and ability to make decisions independently.

Responsibilities:

  • Enforce strict adherence to safety standards, including OSHA regulations and facility-specific guidelines (e.g., proper PPE usage).
  • Provide leadership and training to accomplish production objectives to all employees for Safety, Quality, production, packaging, and maintenance.
  • Coordinates production activities with other departments to ensure production goals/objectives are accomplished in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Works with the operations team to ensure vacancies are covered for any planned/unplanned.
  • Handle disputes or performance issues calmly and effectively before they escalate.
  • Establishes and monitors shift performance for safety, quality, and production standards.
  • Enters production data accurately into the system in order to measure and monitor KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) around efficiencies, downtime, inventory and overall production.Leads employee start-up meetings
  • Works with other team members to control and improve efficiency, minimize labor overtime, downtime and repair expenses. Implements cost-effective systems around this as necessary.
  • Promotes shop floor organization, plant housekeeping with employees lean utilizing techniques such as 5S with shift personnel.
  • Acts as the first point of contact for operators regarding mechanical failure or production issues.
  • Create maintenance work requests and coordinate with maintenance technicians so that repairs are resolved.

  • Providing necessary training to all production employees as it relates to safety, quality, production and equipment operation.
  • Follows all safety rules and procedures and observes the operations to insure a safe environment.
  • Upholds Site and Corporate Environmental Policies by following all Environmental Policies, Procedures and Work Instructions.
  • Responsible for ensuring the compliance of “Food Product Safety” & “Product Quality” of the molded product, to meet the expectation of our customers.
  • Understands and follows Hazard Materials Regulations 49 CFR Part 172.704 (a)(1) General awareness/familiarization training, (a)(3) Safety training, and (a)(4) Security awareness training.

Requirements:

  • 3 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Six Sigma Green or Black Belt Certification a plus
  • Previous Labor Relations experience
  • Previous experience working in a Lean environment; Embraces continuous improvement
  • Self-directed team players
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skill
  • Flexibility to work multiple shifts
