We are on a journey of continuous growth – now looking for our next star – a passionate Production Supervisor This position reports to the Production Manager and will work in Sparta, TN.

About the position

As Production Supervisor of the Sparta team, you will be involved in the direction and management of multiple manufacturing departments / activities,( i.e. – Rotational Molding processes and Steering processes) through subordinate Team Leaders to achieve timely production of quality products at the most economical cost. You must work well under pressure in a fast-paced work environment, schedule and plan production effectively and communicate the schedule / production plan to manufacturing groups as assigned. Must possess the ability to identify problems, assess manufacturing needs, problem solve and implement solutions in an effective and timely manner.

Your main responsibilities

  • Actively promotes and ensures a safe and clean work environment
  • Responsible for all aspects of production in areas assigned
  • Responsible for achieving all manufacturing goals and objectives
  • Troubleshoots problems and implements solutions in a timely manner
  • Establishes training, counsels, motivates and coaches immediate subordinates
  • Responsible for maintaining up to date data for department data bases
  • Review, revise or adjust manufacturing schedule as needed
  • Monitor manufacturing supplies/tools and reorder as needed
  • Monitor all equipment in departments and fill out any maintenance requests as needed
  • Responsible for manufacturing all products within published quality specifications
  • Responsible for plant security on respected shift of operations.
  • Responsible for inventory control on material and parts in manufacturing area
  • Conduct in-depth accident investigations focusing on root cause analysis
  • Administer disciplinary action for immediate subordinates based on company policy and procedures
  • Enforce all company policies and procedures
  • Report any HR issues to immediate Supervisor as well as the HR department
  • Ability to work with basic computer programs – Word, Excel, MAPICS
  • Approve immediate subordinates UKG (including maintaining schedules), vacation requests, excused absences, etc.
  • Work closely with HR to maintain staffing levels and accurate tracking of labor placement
  • Must create and maintain an atmosphere that focuses on safety, quality, and production effectiveness.
  • Track and communicate production and quality issues
  • Ensure proper training of new or relocated employees to maintain acceptable product quality
  • Any other duties as assigned

A suitable background would be a solid experience within manufacturing and production supervision as well as the following qualifications and experiences:

  • A strong background in production/manufacturing with 5 to 7 years experience
  • Preferred 4 year degree plus additional specialized training with a plastics/engineering background or equivalent experience.
  • Strong knowledge of machine mechanics and processes, process optimization, quality, inspection methods and standards
  • The flow of work and duties performed require above average mental and visual attention
  • The ability to operate a personal computer, various software programs, and other office equipment
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Proficiency in Excel and data analysis tools
