Production Supervisor
The Production Supervisor will supervise and direct the operational activities of the production team. Responsibilities include fostering a safe and positive work environment, ensuring compliance with internal and external quality and safety guidelines (MSHA, EHS, DEQ), and optimizing equipment and processes to meet manufacturing goals and objectives.
M-F, day shift (on call as needed)
Location: Kings Mountain, NC
Primary Duties:
Maintain a safe working environment according to Mining Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) and IMERYS EHS Protocols.
Monitor quality control for mica manufacturing and packaging.
Manage computerized data entry for production reports, time entry, and quality control.
Direct and train Operators, Maintainers, and Mine workers.
Monitor equipment parameters to meet productivity and quality targets.
Lead daily safety meetings and conduct workplace inspections.
Ensure that all employees in the assigned area of responsibility are fully trained and are following safe work practices.
Execute the production plan and prioritize tasks for direct reports.
Identify and resolve production roadblocks; escalate issues when targets are at risk.
Direct shift maintenance and coordinate long-term repairs with the Maintenance Manager.
Support the Site Manager with inspections (MSHA/State), EHS activities, and Capex/Maintenance projects.
Observe and address unsafe behavior of all employees and contractors in the assigned areas of responsibility in a timely manner.
Document and report shift performance in all functional areas of assigned areas of responsibility on a timely basis.
Processing Equipment Involved:
Bucket Elevators, Belt Conveyors, Rotary Dryer, Air Classifier, Sifters.
Paper & Bulk Bag Packaging Equipment.
Also must be able to operate small front end loaders and warehouse forklift.
Working Conditions:
Indoors and Outdoors in various weather conditions
Experience:
Bachelor’s degree preferred, Engineering or relevant discipline or relevant experience.
Minimum 3 years related experience, including 1 year leadership experience ERP Experience preferred
Proficient in computer skills (Google or Microsoft)
Skills Requirements:
Demonstrated ability to efficiently operate and monitor all processing equipment.
Demonstrated ability to efficiently operate and monitor all bagging equipment.
Communications skills including verbal, non-verbal, listening, interpreting and understanding instructions.
Consulting effectively with coworkers concerning work and schedules.
Satisfactory Attendance & Performance Records.
Ability to work as part of the Kings Mountain Team.
Ability to operate equipment safely and efficiently.
Detail oriented, self motivated (ability to work unsupervised) and reliable with good planning and communications skills. Team participation skills needed to integrate with the entire operation.
Proficient in use of analytical laboratory equipment
Proficient in production process
Other Required Activities:
Sitting, climbing, stooping, lifting (up to 50lbs), checking, visual inspection, hearing, listening, operation in a safe manner according to work instructions
