About The Opportunity
The production supervisor is responsible for directing and supervising the production team to meet safety, quality, delivery and cost targets while achieving efficient and effective operations.
This is 2nd shift position. The production supervisor is scheduled from 2:30 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. Monday through Friday. Some Saturday work may be required.
Position Responsibilities
Provide and maintain a safe working environment for all employees, including auditing, addressing unsafe behaviors and conditions, timely reporting safety incidents and enforcing safety-related policies and procedures.
Execute production priorities and work schedules to meet customer demands.
Manage and direct production activities to improve utilization of company resources, including but not limited to materials and labor.
Respond timely to all quality issues regarding parts and processes.
Resolve people concerns in a timely and positive fashion.
Communicate roadblocks to meet targets and adjust as necessary to meet targets.
Maintain high degree of plant floor visibility throughout the shift.
Monitor scrap for undue waste.
Administer policies and procedures.
Train employees in assigned tasks to ensure they are effective in the performance of their work and addresses performance concerns when necessary.
Attend meetings are needed.
Complete reports and other company documents as required.
Facilitate and execute continuous improvement activities.
Promote employee engagement to create and maintain a positive work environment.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent - required
Bachelor’s degree - preferred
3-5 years of supervisory experience in manufacturing
Able to work 2nd shift hours
Excellent communication skills (verbal and written in English, required)
Able to function in a collaborative environment with cross-functional teams
Demonstrated ability to lead others in a manufacturing team
Strong problem-solving skills
Advanced skills in Microsoft Office applications
Excellent organizing and leadership skills
Strong interpersonal abilities
Self-motivated with a results-driven approach
Exposure to lean manufacturing, preferred
Sporadic travel may be required for training or other job-related activities
Physical Requirements
This individual will be walking and standing most of the assigned shift it requires a continuous presence on the manufacturing floor and some visits to the office area. The manufacturing floor is not climate controlled.
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to talk, hear, sit, and use hands to type, write and or manage tools and equipment. The employee frequently is required to stand and walk. Occasionally the employee is required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach with hands and arms (example: climbing stairs, reaching at, above, and or below shoulder height). The employee must occasionally lift and or move objects such as boxes of 15-25 pounds and above 49 pounds with assistance. Specific vision abilities required for this position include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus to watch video monitor.
