Job Description

Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Oversees the department in the absence of the Production Manager.
  • Prepares shipments (including: wrapping, weighing, preparing paperwork, acquiring dimensions, checking for accuracy, etc.).
  • Receives shipments.
  • Controls and adjusts inventory.
  • Trains employees on various job procedures.
  • Substitutes for absent employees.
  • Attends daily meetings with customer service.
  • Interface between production and customer service for items that need attention.
  • Check all work, documents and records for accuracy.

Education and/or Experience

  • High School graduate or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of experience in manufacturing.
  • GMP experience a plus.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Directly supervises employees in the Production department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work, and resolving problems.

Environmental, Safety, Quality, and Legal Requirements

Understand and follow all environmental, safety, quality, and legal regulations for the area in which they work

Language Skills
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.


Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to accurately count multiple configurations of inventoried product and raw materials.

Computer Skills

To perform this job to a valued degree of success, an individual should have strong knowledge with QuickBooks. The individual will also need a working knowledge of Microsoft office tools such as including Excel, Word, and Outlook.

Reasoning Ability

Must have strong troubleshooting skills. Must use common sense and solid judgment when making decisions.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Ability to be forklift certified required.

Ability to be CPR/First Aid certified required.
