Albemarle is hiring for a Plant Supervisor This position is located in Silver Peak, Nevada

The Production Supervisor is responsible for both the Lithium Carbonate and Lithium Anhydrous units’ safety, quality, and production. They will continue to develop and foster an inclusive environment where team members are empowered to continuously improve the department. A successful Unit Supervisor has a strong operational and process background, with great time management, is a successful delegator, and can communicate across the company hierarchy effectively.

What You Will Do

  • Lead the operation of both a lithium carbonate plant and an anhydrous lithium hydroxide plant.

  • Ensure safe operation of the unit and facilitate alignment with MSHA and corporate safety policies.

  • Manage operator shifts, workload and responsibilities

  • Coordinate with maintenance and engineering teams to ensure stable and efficient plant operation

  • Build roadmaps and long-term plans for capital investment and improvement projects

  • Forecast production and maintain stable production rates

  • Manage the departmental budget and ensure responsible expenditure

  • Maintain product quality

  • Must be able to respond to calls outside of normal working hours to help troubleshoot process issues.

What You Bring

Required:

  • B.S. degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering

  • 5+ Years of experience in operations/manufacturing environment

  • Ability to demonstrate leadership skills

  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to work in cross-functional teams and drive interdepartmental efforts

  • RCA experience

Preferred:

  • Prior experience in manufacturing

  • Previous leadership experience

  • Knowledge of Process Safety Management

  • Experience with MSHA or working in an MSHA regulated work environment

  • Experience with HR processes

  • Experience with Lean Management, such as Six Sigma Certification
