The Production Supervisor provides direction and assistance to the manufacturing team in order to

meet assigned objectives. This role will demonstrate leadership in communicating safety goals,

business goals, and processes for the area. You will utilize your experience or expertise to solve

problems, develop and execute objectives for self and others, and effect short-term and some long-

term business goals, driving a world-class manufacturing environment.


Key Characteristics

The Production Supervisor will oversee production processes from start to finish to ensure staff make products in the manufacturing facility that meet quality standards, are completed on time, at cost, and with safety assured for staff throughout the entire manufacturing process.


Duties & Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of employees to support the business with a focus on EHS, Quality, Productivity, and On-time Delivery goals.
  • Coordinate, lead, and execute daily production plans to meet all internal and external customer commitments.
  • Work with Engineering, Quality, and Product Service to identify root causes and solve external quality issues.
  • Ensure that ISO 9001 quality system requirements are met, and prepare and maintain work procedures and instruction.
  • Provide Product Service content for and assist in the development of training courses for new and updated products.
  • Accomplish goals while maintaining high team morale, employee involvement, safety, and teamwork.
  • Develop production line manufacturing plans consistent with the goals and objectives of the operations department annual budget plan.
  • Provide direction to support the needs of each production area, including managing contract resources by work assignments, scheduling of overtime, and training for all team members.
  • Support, encourage, and facilitate Lean Manufacturing principles by providing adequate time for training and for project teams to accomplish continuous improvement projects.
  • Work to maintain and further develop a Visual Workplace including support for a 5-S program, active project boards, performance measure charts, and training program status boards.
  • Develop and support the growth of all employees
  • Support all company workplace policies including attendance and safety objectives.

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Preferred

  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings.
    • Expertise in various fabrication techniques (welding, cutting, shaping, etc.).
    • Knowledge of different materials and their properties.
    • Understanding of construction principles and practices.
    • Familiarity with CAD software and other relevant technology.
  • Communication Skills:
    • Verbal and written communication.
    • Active listening.
    • Ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly.
  • Computer Skills:
    • Proficiency in Google Suite or similar software.
  • Safety Awareness:
    • Understanding of OSHA regulations and other safety standards.
    • Ability to implement and enforce safety procedures.
  • Interpersonal Skills:
    • Conflict resolution.
    • Teamwork and collaboration.

Education & Experience

Required

  • High school degree or equivalent.
  • 7 years experience in manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrates a high level of operational understanding of work practices.
  • Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of area specific equipment.
  • Ability to train and develop employees.
  • Ability to build and lead a team through change.
  • Ability to plan, communicate, and execute effectively.
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work without direct supervision.
  • Ability to work with all levels of the organization displaying strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Strong organizational, oral, and written communication skills.


Preferred

  • At least 3 additional years of manufacturing supervision experience in assembly, welding, machining, and electrical assembly.
  • Technical College Degree in related subject areas.
  • Ability to lead projects utilizing project management skills.
  • Experience utilizing SAP as a manufacturing resource.
  • Working knowledge of Google Suite.
  • Material Management Experience.


Working Conditions

This position will be responsible for the supervision of approximately 25 team members.
