2nd Shift Production Supervisor – Advanced Extrusion Operations

Greater Philadelphia Region • Specialty Plastics Manufacturer

Own 2nd shift on a newly commissioned, state-of-the-art extrusion line. This is not a placeholder leadership role. This is hands-on ownership of a highly advanced extrusion operation at a growing specialty plastics manufacturer.

A company in the greater Philadelphia area has recently completed commissioning of a major new extrusion line and is seeking a steady, technical 2nd shift supervisor to run it safely, consistently, and at high quality.

Why This Role Exists

The business has made a significant investment in next-generation extrusion technology capable of processing a broad range of engineering-grade polymers. With a leadership gap on 2nd shift, they need a strong, solutions-oriented supervisor to protect uptime, quality, and throughput.

What You Will Own

• Lead and develop a small 2nd shift team (typically 1–2 operators)

• Oversee safe, consistent extrusion production

• Troubleshoot process issues in real time

• Maintain strong shift-to-shift communication and handoff

• Ensure quality standards for engineering-grade materials

• Support scrap reduction and throughput improvement initiatives

• Serve as the extrusion expert on your shift

What Strong Candidates Look Like

• Proven extrusion experience (required)

• Experience supervising or leading operators

• Comfortable processing engineering-grade resins

• Strong troubleshooting and mechanical aptitude

• Ability to work a true 2nd shift (approximately 3 PM – 11 PM)

Compensation & Benefits

• $60,000 - $75,000 depending on experience

• Overtime eligibility depending on base structure
