🧭 About the Role
The Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the production process during an assigned shift to ensure high‑quality output, operational efficiency, and adherence to health, safety, and environmental standards. This role supports and develops a diverse team of production employees and works collaboratively with cross‑functional partners to meet production goals. The Production Supervisor also contributes to workforce development, employee engagement, and continuous improvement within the Production Department.
🔧 What You’ll Do
• Oversee daily production operations for the assigned shift, ensuring safety, quality, productivity, and schedule adherence are consistently achieved.
• Lead shift handovers and daily start‑up meetings, clearly communicating priorities, performance insights, and operational risks.
• Optimize labor, workflow, materials, and equipment utilization while coordinating with maintenance, process, and technical teams to resolve production issues.
• Monitor and analyze production, cost, and performance data (e.g., MES, shift reports) to identify trends, remove barriers, and drive informed decision‑making.
• Support, coach, and develop production team members through clear expectations, ongoing feedback, performance discussions, and targeted training initiatives.
• Champion a proactive health, safety, and environmental culture by ensuring compliance with corporate policies, ISO standards, incident reporting, and 5S practices.
• Partner with Human Resources to support inclusive recruitment, onboarding, certification, and succession planning to build a skilled and engaged workforce.
• Lead and participate in continuous improvement initiatives, audits, and standardized work development to enhance safety, consistency, quality, and operational excellence.
🧩 What You Bring
Education & Certifications
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous supervisory or leadership experience is considered an asset.
• Approximately five (5) years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with exposure to safety, continuous improvement, and people leadership preferred.
• Working knowledge of health, safety, and environmental practices in a production setting.
• Experience with plastics blending and/or processing (e.g., extrusion, molding) is an asset but not required.
