The Production Supervisor - Intermediate is responsible for managing small work teams in a fast paced, high volume, unionized manufacturing environment. Responsibilities include but not limited to:
âEnsure the production plan is met, analyzes issues with other roles, drives and implements continuous improvement activities and sustainability of solutions inside the Zone.
â Ensure a safe workplace, leads the Team to improve Safety in the area and enforces the use of mandated Safety tools and procedures.
â Understand losses during the Shift, use the C-Matrix to coordinate World Class Manufacturing activities and improve Zone performances.
â Proactively analyzes quality KPIs related to the Zone, prioritizes quality issues and properly guides Team Leaders.
â Ensure the right allocation of the people on the line, manages absenteeism, trains and builds teams.
â Possess knowledge of the broader manufacturing organization and have the ability to mobilize support groups and resources to lead and assist in problem solving activities.
â Actively participate and lead Kaizen project activities centered on Safety, Cost, Quality and Throughput improvements and waste reduction opportunities identified through cost deployment.
Requirements:
â High school diploma or GED required.
â Ability to work any shift and overtime as required
â Excellent organization, written and oral communication skills
Have supervisory and manufacturing experience-2 years +
â Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interface with various levels of employees within all areas of the Plant from hourly represented employees to Senior Leadership as required
â Ability to build effective business relationships with plant leadership and customers
â Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
â Goal oriented self-starter with ability to lead teams
â Ability to coach/mentor/develop team members
â Must have a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office
Must have a valid driver's license, available to work any shift
Preferred Requirements:
â Bachelor’s degree in a technical field
â 2 or more years of experience in supervision in a high volume environment.
â Demonstrated ability to coach/mentor/develop team members
â Previous experience working in a union environment
â Experience in continuous improvement systems and lean manufacturing
â Good working knowledge of Google Suite software programs
Manufacturing General Physical Requirements
*Work different shifts and/or work weekends, including overtime.
* Work in hot and/or cold environments
* Work around heavy equipment or manufacturing machinery
* Wear safety equipment such as safety glasses, sleeves, earplugs and steel-toed shoes
* Stand or walk for long periods of time each day
* Frequently bend, stoop, reach and lift up to 40 pounds
* Work in tight or closed in spaces
* Regularly climb ladder/man lift/stairs/crawl under vehicles if necessary
* Strong verbal communication skills
* Ability to work in a team environment
