Roster: 7/7, 12.5 hour shifts, Day/Night
Location: Blackwater, QLD 4717

Owned by Yancoal, Yarrabee is based in Blackwater QLD which is 200 km west of the Capricorn Coast. Yarrabee is a proud producer of high-quality PCI coal since 1982. Job Tasks and Responsibilities

The Production Supervisor, reporting to the Production Superintendent, will be responsible for the management and oversight of a production crew in conjunction with an OCE.
This includes ensuring the safe execution of the mine plan in accordance with operating standards, procedures, and defined processes to deliver optimal production outcomes.
In this role your key responsibilities will include:

  • Ensuring compliance with the requirements of the Mine Safety and Inspection Act and Mines Safety Inspection Regulations
  • Providing direct supervision of employees and sub-contractors working within the area of responsibility and allocating day-to-day work priorities
  • Focus on creating a culture of care by being a visible safety leader, engaging, developing and coaching your team
  • Managing workloads and allocating duties across the production team to deliver the plan and ensure all development targets are achieved
  • Promoting continuous improvement by challenging work practices and encouraging employee participation in new concepts

Skills and Experience

The ideal candidate will have the proven ability to lead positive change and support the continual development of a high performing team, dedicated to working safely, complying with all site safety standards, mine working procedures and ensure a safe and environmentally healthy workplace.
In addition, the ideal candidate will meet the following:

  • Thorough understanding of individual responsibilities in relation to the Coal Mining Safety & Health Act and associated regulations
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to create positive working relationships and be adaptable to various communication styles
  • Previous experience in the operation of plant and machinery within a mining or heavy industry environment
  • Previous Supervisory experience within an open cut mining environment
  • Intermediate computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, SAP and similar systems and databases
  • S1,2,3 Supervisor and G2 Qualifications are essential
  • Possess and maintain a current drivers licence
