PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:

The Production Supervisor oversees the Y2 production process from the dumper station to providing full gaylords to the supplemental warehouse that will provide all CommunityAid stores with sorted product. This position partners with the Truck Driver team and Logistics team to ensure the product from CommunityAid's bin network is moved both effectively and efficiently. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Participate in cooperative daily planning huddle with Warehouse Supervisor, Retail Supervisor(s) and Store Management in order to determine daily store needs and adjust Production Associates as necessary to meet them. Ongoing and open communication with entire store leadership team.
  • Operational oversight of the production area, including inventory processing, anticipating and executing for seasonal transitions, and preparation for special sales.
  • Ensure all product (accessories, shoes, clothing, bric brac, linens, toys and electronics) is sorted, graded, priced and racked for the day.
  • Work in tandem with the Retail Supervisors to provide products based on the needs of the sales floor, which fluctuate day to day. Adjust the production process as necessary to provide product in response to Retail Supervisor requests.
  • Work with store management to ensure adequate staffing, including the onboarding of new employees.
  • Employee training and development, including system-wide communication, cultural alignment, team building and guidance, and employee recognition. Communicate performance expectations and best practices, provide coaching, utilize existing performance management tools to fully engage employees.
  • Assist store management in ensuring compliance with all state and federal laws that apply to the company, as well as ensuring that CommunityAid policies and procedures are clearly communicated and upheld.
  • Facilities and Logistics – Ensure stores are a safe environment for both employees and customers. Monitor for safety and quickly address and correct unsafe work conditions as necessary.
  • Analysis and planning– Routinely gather, analyze, and report store performance data, product and marketing intelligence, and other sources of feedback with the clear intention of using this information to adjust with agility to retail needs in order to increase sales.
  • Employee Engagement and Morale – Use a blend of communication skills and models, share compelling stories, hold meetings and huddles, utilize employee recognition, and communicate with store management to ensure associates fully understand and appreciate the work of Community Aid and their role as contributors.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Associate or bachelor’s degree related to business management preferred; High School diploma or equivalent required

• Three or more years of experience in a supervisory role within comparable retail and/or service-oriented businesses

• Experience effectively managing people in a fast-paced, professional work environment

• Able to lead and positively influence people through challenging situations

• Strong organizational skills, able to adjust and prioritize work to meet clear time frames and deadlines

• Able to maintain confidentialilty and appropriately handle sensitive information

• Able to work evenings and weekends on a regular basis

• Demonstrated ability to read, write and speak English with proficiency

• Must have a valid Driver’s License


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to frequently lift and carry 21 to 35 pounds

• Ability to occasionally carry up to 50 pounds

• Ability to push and pull up to 20 pounds

• Ability to stand for extended periods
