Title: Production Supervisor

Department: Laser, Design and Die (LDD)

Location: 1104 Hawn Ave., Shreveport, LA

Wage Category: Exempt

Report To: Director, Laser, Design and Die

The Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all aspects of LDD production operations to ensure efficiency, product quality, safety, and customer satisfaction. This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and the ability to coordinate resources to meet production goals.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

Leadership and Supervision

  • Provide direct supervision and leadership to all LDD production employees.
  • Communicate job expectations clearly and consistently.
  • Coach, counsel, and discipline employees as needed while fostering a positive work environment.
  • Delegate responsibilities and create leadership opportunities within the team.
  • Conduct performance assessments and compile reports to identify opportunities for increased efficiency.

Production Planning and Operations

  • Schedule and direct the production process, setting and monitoring production goals.
  • Assign personnel, establish priorities, and adjust schedules as necessary to meet deadlines.
  • Monitor workflow to ensure continuous and efficient operations.
  • Troubleshoot issues during production to minimize downtime and maintain productivity.
  • Process daily production orders, shipments, and receiving tasks within the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, ensuring accurate data entry and tracking.
  • Manage and direct monthly inventory processes.

Quality Assurance and Compliance

  • Conduct in-line product inspections to ensure compliance with contract specifications and quality standards.
  • Maintain adherence to all federal, state, and local regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.
  • Ensure department operations comply with all safety regulations and guidelines.

Equipment and Materials Management

  • Ensure adequate raw material inventory is maintained to support production requirements.
  • Oversee shipping and receiving functions to ensure timely and accurate distribution.
  • Ensure proper operation of equipment by coordinating repairs and evaluating new equipment or techniques.

Communication and Customer Relations

  • Communicate effectively across departments to ensure products are produced and shipped on time while meeting quality standards.
  • Provide manufacturing information by compiling, analyzing, and reporting production data.
  • Maintain and promote positive relationships with customers.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned to support departmental and organizational goals.



Qualifications

  • Associate degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.
  • Minimum of two years of supervisory experience in a production environment.
  • Hands-on experience with machine operation and maintenance required.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, with frequent bending, and the capacity to perform moderate to heavy lifting.
  • Proficiency in computer applications; familiarity with AutoCAD preferred.
