Job Purpose

The Production Supervisor oversees daily manufacturing operations, ensuring that production targets are met safely, efficiently, and in compliance with quality standards. This role manages frontline employees, coordinates workflow, and supports continuous improvement initiatives.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate daily production activities to meet established production schedules and customer requirements.
• Ensure compliance with all safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
• Manage production team members, including scheduling, training, coaching, performance management, and disciplinary actions.
• Monitor production efficiency, scrap rates, downtime, and labor utilization to achieve operational goals.
• Ensure products meet quality standards and customer specifications.
• Investigate and resolve production, quality, and equipment-related issues.
• Collaborate with Maintenance, Quality, Engineering, Materials, and Human Resources departments to support manufacturing objectives.
• Conduct daily production meetings and communicate key performance indicators (KPIs) to team members.
• Implement and support Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, 5S, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Maintain accurate production records and reports.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, work instructions, and standard operating procedures.
• Oversee inventory control and material usage within the production area.
• Participate in audits and corrective action activities.
• Support new product launches and process improvements.
• Promote employee engagement and a positive team environment.

Education and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or 4+ years of applicable experience
• 3+ years of experience

Skills

• Strong leadership and team-building skills.
• Knowledge of automotive manufacturing processes and assembly operations.
• Understanding of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Familiarity with safety regulations and OSHA requirements.
• Effective problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and manufacturing reporting systems.
• Ability to analyze data and identify opportunities for process improvement.
• Experience working in a fast-paced, high-volume manufacturing environment.
