What is the role where you make an impact?

Production Supervisor (2nd Shift):

In this second shift Production Supervisor role you will be responsible for making decisions and taking action so that established standards and practices in the assigned department are maintained. You will direct, manage and schedule the work of the manufacturing team to maximize efficiency and meet shipping date commitments to customers.

What will you do in this role?

  • Maintain a safe working environment.
  • Complete Safety program activities accurately and on time.
  • Acquires knowledge of machinery to assist in troubleshooting and technical details of process improvements.
  • Oversee the hiring of the hourly workforce required for the assigned department.
  • Day-to-day management and supervision of Production. Develops, reviews, updates and implements Production Improvement procedures on own initiative and as directed.
  • Manage, implement, and grow the MOS structure of the department
  • Maintain day-to-day communications with Production Manager concerning daily operations.
  • Coordinate all R&D and trial materials and process flows.
  • Establish whether production dates can be met, or what can be done to meet them. Forecast future requirements for production and assist in scheduling processes as necessary.
  • Implement Monitor scrap removal and reduction programs. Report material losses on a monthly basis.
  • Manage employee performance and prepare performance evaluations
  • Review employee performance and address with coaching and progressive discipline as needed.
  • Responsible for the training and development of personnel.
  • Withhold product that does not meet requirements determine root cause and corrective actions for scrap if within operating domain
  • Execute established procedures in the disposition of noncompliant materials.
  • Schedule staffing and follow up on timely completion work output.
  • Interact and communicate with the Sales & Customer Service Departments on current running jobs.
  • Ensures that data collection/reporting activities within the Manufacturing department are completed accurately and on a timely basis.
  • Complete hour by hour walks at least twice per shift.
  • Verify flags have been reconciled.
  • Audit paperwork, posting times and production reports. Correct and train as needed.
  • Verify that a second operator has signed off on the slit width.
  • Works closely with Manufacturing Process Engineer and QA in the development and implementation of Statistical Process Control.

What skills do you bring to the role?

  • Bachelor’s Degree (preferably in Engineering) or demonstrated work equivalent.
  • Demonstrated team facilitation skills and success in implementing process improvements in conjunction with employee work teams.
  • Demonstrated success in the implementation of Statistical Process Control techniques within a manufacturing environment.
  • Must be computer literate and demonstrate capability in working with Excel spread sheets.
  • Ability to operate and communicate effectively in person, over the telephone, and in groups, under normal and stressful conditions.
  • Ability to lead, motivate, select, train and instruct personnel. Good interpersonal, organization and communication skills.
  • Must demonstrate strong decision-making skills, sound judgment and the ability to adapt to a rapidly changing work environment.

Management Responsibilities include:

Directly and indirectly supervises shift management and non-management employees in the assigned manufacturing area. Carries out management responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

The compensation range will pay up to $75k plus bonus incentive
