Job Description
The Production Supervisor will oversee daily production operations and personnel during the second shift, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and according to established production schedules and quality standards.
The ideal candidate has a proven background in production supervision in a manufacturing environment. Industry background is flexible; candidates from different manufacturing sectors will be considered as long as they have directly supervised production employees and managed day-to-day floor operations.
This is a hands-on leadership role requiring strong communication, sound judgment, and the ability to keep employees and production activities aligned throughout the shift.
Job Requirements:
- 3+ years in a production supervisory role within a manufacturing environment.
- Previous title of Production Supervisor, Manufacturing Supervisor, or equivalent supervisory position required.
- Fluency in both English and Spanish required.
- Background in manufacturing or production operations; industry experience is flexible.
- Proven track record of leading production employees and coordinating daily floor activities.
- Knowledge of production scheduling, workflow, safety procedures, and quality standards.
- Familiarity with monitoring productivity, downtime, scrap, and overall production performance.
- Strong judgment when addressing employee, equipment, quality, or workflow issues.
- Ability to communicate effectively with employees, management, and other departments.
- Comfortable using Microsoft Office and production-related systems.
- Background in employee training, coaching, and performance follow-up.

Physical Requirements:
- Regularly stand and walk throughout the production floor during the shift.
- Move throughout the manufacturing facility to monitor production activities and employees.
- Occasionally lift, carry, or move materials as required by the operation.
- Work around production machinery, moving equipment, noise, and industrial materials.
- Follow all required PPE, OSHA, and plant safety procedures.
- Maintain awareness of surroundings and safe practices while working around active production equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise Production Activities: Oversee daily production operations and ensure work is completed according to schedule and established procedures.
- Lead Production Employees: Direct, coach, and support production employees throughout the shift while maintaining accountability for performance and attendance.
- Manage Production Workflow: Assign personnel and coordinate work priorities to keep production moving efficiently.
- Monitor Production Performance: Follow productivity, downtime, scrap, and other production indicators and address issues affecting output.
- Maintain Safety Standards: Enforce company safety policies, PPE requirements, and safe operating practices on the production floor.
- Maintain Quality Standards: Ensure employees follow established quality procedures and address quality issues as they arise.
- Resolve Production Issues: Troubleshoot day-to-day employee, equipment, material, and workflow issues and involve the appropriate department when needed.
- Coordinate with Other Departments: Communicate with Maintenance, Quality, Warehouse, and Management to resolve operational issues and maintain production flow.
- Train & Coach Employees: Provide direction and training on production procedures, safety requirements, quality expectations, and proper equipment operation.
- Monitor Attendance & Staffing: Address attendance concerns and adjust staffing assignments to support production requirements.
- Complete Shift Documentation: Maintain accurate production records, reports, and shift handoff information.
- Communicate Shift Updates: Provide management with updates regarding production status, issues, staffing, and outstanding work.
- Support Continuous Improvement: Identify practical opportunities to improve productivity, reduce waste, and maintain efficient production processes.
- Maintain a Safe & Organized Work Area: Ensure the production floor remains organized and employees follow established procedures.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
