The Production Supervisor is responsible for directly supervising manufacturing operations. Ensure associates work in a safe environment. Motivate and coordinate associates to meet safety, quality, delivery and cost objectives within the department. Responsible for overseeing department workflow, troubleshooting and resolving production problems. Develop and maintain a team environment which will work toward providing continuous improvement. Leads a staff of 50+ hourly associates.

1st shift - 6 am to 2 pm

Responsibilities

  • Proactively implement and promote a safe work environment.
  • Lead and motivate team to achieve a positive team based work environment that meets performance goals and objectives for safety, quality, delivery and cost. Communicate expectations and results.
  • Manage workforce according to company philosophy aligned with “Who We Are”, mission, beliefs, values and vision.
  • Responsible for planning and scheduling operations and workforce on a daily basis.
  • Regularly review process and productivity information. Troubleshoot and resolve production, quality and delivery issues working closely with a variety of support departments such as engineering, maintenance and planning.
  • Train, evaluate, coach and mentor associates, utilizing performance management techniques, to help improve performance, including disciplinary actions as necessary. Identify top talent for advancement opportunities.
  • Lead, participate in and support Continuous Improvement and other problem solving activities. Lead associates to use Continuous Improvement tools. Support implementation of new processes and methods.
  • Maintain and consistently administer local policies to meet day-to-day operating requirements.
  • Responsible for maintaining procedures and work instructions and for completing a variety of administrative tasks as necessary.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Previous supervisory experience and Bachelor's degree preferred. High School diploma/equivalent and a minimum of 2 years manufacturing / leadership experience required. Possess technical skills related to the area of responsibility. Ability to read, write and speak English. Strong communications skills are essential.
