Purpose of Position:

Ensures manpower effectiveness and optimal operational output is maintained through accurate planning, directing and supervision of all production related activities Ensures safe working conditions and that technical investigations on effectiveness are carried out, yield cost targets and customer requirements are met.

Qualification(s) and Experience Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in Food Science
• 5 years’ experience in a supervisory role within a food processing environment
• Knowledge of Production efficiencies processes
• Must have a good knowledge of Industrial Relations and Namibian Labour Legislation
• Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), the HACCP system and safety regulations
• Knowledge of ISO 9000 and 14000 family of standards

Key Responsibilities:

Overall Production Management - Plan, organize and control production in such a way that optimal results can be achieved, and adjusts the methods of working within certain parameters if and when circumstances require.

Compliance and adherence to Health, Safety and Quality Standards - Enforce required regulations and practices (GMP, HACCP, FFO, BRC approved practices) in all areas of the production process.

Compliance to Equipment maintenance and handling standards - Ensure that equipment is in required working condition Report equipment irregularities and breakdowns.

Team Management - Ensure supervisors manage their subordinates accordingly. Ensure that the subordinates’ performances are up to standard and provide leadership, directing and training to subordinates where and when needed.
