Job Description

The BSA Production Specialist is responsible for supporting daily production operations within the Battery System Assembly (BSA) area by assisting with battery system assembly processes, driving process improvements, and serving as a technical resource for production teams. This role plays a critical part in achieving safety, quality, delivery, and productivity targets while supporting training initiatives, standardized work practices, and operational excellence.

The BSA Production Specialist collaborates closely with Production, Engineering, Maintenance, Quality, and Materials teams to identify and resolve operational issues, improve manufacturing performance, and support continuous improvement efforts. Success in this role requires strong technical knowledge, problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to maintaining high standards in a fast-paced manufacturing environment

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (To perform within this position successfully, the incumbent must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned.)

  • Utilize product and equipment knowledge to maximize production efficiency while ensuring the manufacture of high-quality battery system products.
  • Support issue resolution by conducting root cause analysis and implementing sustainable corrective and preventive actions.
  • Apply structured problem-solving methodologies to drive rapid and sustainable performance improvements.
  • Partner with Process Engineering to troubleshoot manufacturing issues and support initiatives focused on reducing scrap, cycle time, and equipment downtime.
  • Ensure adherence to established procedures for data collection, documentation, reporting, and process controls.
  • Coordinate the effective utilization of raw materials, components, and production resources to support operational goals.
  • Monitor daily production performance metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs), driving actions to achieve departmental objectives.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to safety, quality, cost reduction, productivity, efficiency, and environmental performance.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Materials, Maintenance, Quality, and other internal departments to resolve production-related challenges.
  • Assist in coaching and developing Production Supervisors and team members on standardized work practices, problem-solving techniques, and continuous improvement principles.
  • Promote consistent work practices and ensure production teams follow established standard operating procedures across all shifts.
  • Support training activities by providing technical guidance and assistance to production team members regarding processes, equipment, and best practices.
  • Participate in Kaizen events and continuous improvement projects to enhance operational performance and manufacturing efficiency.
  • Support new product launches, equipment implementation activities, and process changes as required.
  • Assist in maintaining a safe work environment by identifying hazards and promoting adherence to safety policies and procedures.

AUTHORITY & SCOPE This role operates within defined corporate policies and procedures and exercises judgment appropriate to its level of responsibility. The position may influence decisions related to functional operations, processes, or recommendations and escalate matters as required

Qualifications (The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or ability required and preferred for this position.)

Required Education & Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of manufacturing, assembly, or production experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while managing multiple priorities.

Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Strong sense of urgency and commitment to achieving production goals and departmental objectives.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical-thinking skills with a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset.
  • Demonstrated accountability, ownership, and commitment to delivering results.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively across multiple departments.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Technology, Business Management, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience in automotive, battery manufacturing, electronics, EV manufacturing, or advanced manufacturing environments.
  • Experience supporting battery pack or battery system assembly operations.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies

Working Conditions

  • Frequent standing, walking, and movement throughout the manufacturing facility.
  • Occasional lifting of up to 35 pounds.
  • Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
