Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Production Specialist at our Maxton NC site.

This role will be on-site at the Corteva location.

What You’ll Do:

  • Work closely with a variety of internal and external parties to coordinate the delivery of seed from regional growers into the plant by recruiting, managing, and dispatching a fleet of independent freight haulers.
  • Monitor daily demand and ensure time and quality commitments are met.
  • Utilize systems such as SAP/R3 to ensure accurate material movement.
  • Optimize inventory levels of raw materials, finished goods and packaging.
  • Provide information to relevant parties regarding order fulfillment and other activities.
  • Work closely across various departments and sites to schedule and establish priorities of production POs.
  • Coordinate production runs with affected parties to optimize efficiencies and meet schedule deadlines
  • Develop scheduling metrics and utilize problem solving tools to determine root cause of inefficiencies
  • Initiate, support, and pursue continuous cost improvements and LEAN events
  • Ensure compliance with safety and quality requirements
  • Complete and maintain records in accordance with the Corteva Records Retention Policy.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education:

  • You have your High School Diploma/GED.

  • Comfortable analyzing information and making data driven decisions
  • Always work safely and follow all safety policies and procedures to ensure you and your colleagues go home safely every day.
  • Initiative to find and implement a solution when you see a problem and notice an opportunity for improvement
  • Demonstrate exceptional skills in building rapport and trust with colleagues
  • Proficient computer skills that enable effective analysis and interpretation of data using a variety of tools
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Possess high attention to detail, can multitask, maintain an organized workplace, and have excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Proactive, communicate concerns, and adaptable
  • Hold a valid US driver’s license, so you can drive a company vehicle to field locations when needed
  • You are willing and able to work a flexible work schedule including; overtime hours, nights, and weekends to meet business needs during peak season.
